What travellers are saying
- jyotikragMumbai, India7 contributionsWe did the Explorer tour and were thrilled by the experience. Verity, out tour guide, did an excellent job in explaining about the various parts of the GardensWritten 1 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- DrLoriJSpokane, WA7 contributionsWe bought general admission tickets the day before.
We learned there are several sections where you can sit in the first 26 rows with a general admission ticket. We had great seats. It was a fast moving game with lots of fans. Train transportation was easy to use before and after the game. Dress warmly. It gets cold.Written 16 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - GBardotLos Angeles, CA5 contributionsFantastic Picasso Century exhibit. Loved the audio tour (bring your own phone and headphones to listen), loved the way the work of Picasso’s contemporaries were woven into the history and included in the art on display, and loved the cafe. Was the perfect ending to my first trip to Melbourne and the NGV. Highly recommend.Written 4 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Leonie CSydney, Australia1,064 contributionsart Vo is so much fun to indulge in some great photos. Staff came and helped us with taking photos and hints. It was busy for a non school holiday friday. A bit hard to find at the top of the mall, but well worth the trouble.Written 21 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Olivia2 contributionsIt was beautiful see Melbourne from a different angle. You can walk around and have a 360o view of the city. Sunset is amazing and you can enjoy a good coffee as well.Written 13 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Wanda110Doncaster, UK182 contributionsSo close to the city yet like a different world. Lovely places to walk and little towns to visit for crafts and coffee. Also a fantastic botanic garden at Olinda. A lovely escape for a day out.Written 15 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- foghornredWeston super Mare, UK277 contributionsThis Goal is very good with death masks and all sorts of parafinallia, worth a visit if visiting MelbourneWritten 28 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- HengSingapore, Singapore3,627 contributionsA very powerful architecture and exhibit remembering the wars and honoring those who fought in them
Every year, on 11 November at 11 am, a beam of sunlight will pass through and hit the word “LOVE” on the foundation stone within the Shrine. The beam will take 11 minutes to travel across the word.
This is the day and time of the end of World War 1, in 1918.
From John 15:13 - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.Written 7 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Gwyneth G1 contributionI did the foodie truffle tour. I really enjoyed it and learnt a lot about the market, even though I shop there regularly. This tour was very like the ultimate foodie tour with about 1/3 of it being truffle focussed. A bit disappointed that there were no tastings of the truffle toastie which is getting rave reviews and there were very few actual truffles to see and learn about. The one truffle stall didn't offer much information and no tastings. However we were introduced to a number of different truffle products with good tastings - both with and without truffles. Lots of fun, informative and yummyWritten 3 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Sharon ONewcastle, Australia29 contributionsThis is one of the early trams...a bit noisey and rattles a bit but takes you around all the sites of the city with commentary of interesting facts and history.Written 24 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- AntemoChristchurch, New Zealand71 contributionsEasy to access via public transport, so much to see. Really good maps and signposts so you know exactly where you are. Loved the elephants and walk thru Ozzie bird aviaryWritten 24 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- MichelleChanHLSingapore, Singapore1,284 contributionsSouth Melbourne Market is a visit if you are in Melbourne! Plenty of fresh seafood to eat and the grill scallop is so yummy. Fresh fruits, meat, flowers and bakery all in this market. So vibrant and lively! There are restaurants lined up at the outside of the market where you can have decent meal or just grab some snacks and sit at the bar top/ resting spot available. Definitely will visit again when in Melbourne!Written 23 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- HengSingapore, Singapore3,627 contributionsNot just a library, but also a great architecture masterpiece, a museum on books, a historical archive and a well designed reading room.
I even picked up a new word - marginala.
Yes. Come and learn who is Ned Kelly and what he has done to deserve a place in history.Written 7 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Brian BAdelaide, Australia77 contributionsAlways love coming here. Stopped for a coffee. Found the wonderful music and record store called Basement Disks. Really worth the visit.Written 30 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Mark TVictoria, Australia4 contributionsMy wife & I visited the Melbourne Museum today & had a great time. It cost us $15 each to enter - but that gave us access to both the current Open Horizons
Ancient Greek Journeys and Connections exhibition & to the new Triceratops Exhibition which is huge. We were both really impressed by the Greek exhibits - not a huge number of artifacts - but really intriguing & informative - particularly regarding the influences of other cultures upon the Ancient Greeks & vice Versa. Only complaint is the fonts on the explanatory panels are quite small - combined with lowish lighting - they are hard to read - The panels are offset from the exhibits - so could have been much larger & easier to read.
The Triceratops: Fate of the Dinosaurs exhibition is REALLY good. Great use of multimedia & very interactive for the kids & BIG kids. The triceratops fossil "Horridus" was super impressive with an amazing presence & lots of things to examine. - Check out the variation in the femurs of the back legs - for example. It is possible to view the fossil from many angles & distances with ease. I had moderate expectations of both these exhibitions - Totally blown away. $15 & 3 hours well spent.Written 6 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
