Very interesting museum that had a number of exhibits on 3 floors- good information on the history of New Zealand. Made the stop off the hop on hop off bus.

Starts off a bit underwhelming but gets better as you go.
The rocking room of an early cabin is a neat idea.
There are lots of short videos and interactive screens to keep most of us entertained and educated, but two at least are too long. One has a running time of 48 mins and another 80 mins. I have no doubt that Peter Blake was a remarkable Kiwi, but how many visitors will sit through an 80 minute tribute?
All in all though I spent 2 hours there and I don’t really like sailing!

The Auckland Art Gallery is unique in that it is free, and on one floor you will see works by the great masters (Monet, Picasso, Cezanne, etc) and on another you will see "modern" works like a hole in the wall where a talking mouse emerges. I thought the museum was well worth spending an hour or so...

This is a brilliantly put together village where you can explore most of the houses, each giving details of the former residents.

Staff were so helpful and informative.

    Lovely cafe too.

Cant recommend this highly enough to history lovers.

The centre was closed for the Saturday we were there. Nevertheless we went up via a side track passing by a school field watching the activities taking place. The track up is a short 15 mins walk but you are rewarded with a view of the habour area. A great place to visit on the way to Ambury Farm

We went as a I group of 26 elderly folk there on a days outing (in winter) and it was soooooooooooooo delightful we spent nearly 2 hours there as though it is not large there is so much to see and the folk to care for it are so knowledgeable on the area. Well worth a good donation!!! Nickie F

I visited Artspace NZ in Auckland recently thanks to 'New perspectives' openning exhibition. Nice venue with little library abd few exhibition rooms. The place was full of people because of good timing (Friday night) and good catering (a lot of white wine). As several visitors pointed out: they're interested in social life more than contemporary art... Obviously, the organizers took it into consideration :)

We brought our two young boys here expecting to stay for a couple hours. We ended up staying all day, without a break in the kids’ play or learning. There is so much to do, see, explore, read, play, and learn here. There is something for everyone. The owner is passionate about this project and her enthusiasm shows! My kids loved the experiments and learning about so many things in our world through play. A fantastic place to spend a day or more!

This museum is very new, and will no doubt grow. Gives you an insight into one of New Zealands treasures, Crown Lynn Pottery and its history commencing in Walton on Thames in the UK. The Curator was very knowledgeable, and gave a very enthusiastic talk about the Museum and his aspirations for the future. The Museum is close to New Lynn Railway Station was easy assess from the city.
Note a donation would be very much appreciated.

Beautiful view over Long Bay from the homestead, short walk from the far end of the carpark. We almost always stop by when we come to Long Bay, slice of history in a magnificent setting.

This is a fun and creative gallery in the midst of queen street and shoppers nirvana.
Creative art on a myriad of textures, paint, wood, sculptures.
