The last couple of times we have gone with Joshua and Leo as our guides! They are so knowledgeable and brave getting us close this last time to an ocelot in a tree. - Trek7832062 contributionsWe found Sierpe Outfitters while looking for Cultural tours. After giving them contact info for our travel agency and the name of our hotel in Drake Bay Reyna was able to make all the arrangements to add a tour of the Boruca Village on our way from Pirates Cove to Manual Antonio in just a few minutes. Our guide Simone was extremely knowledgeable of the culture and history of the tribe who treated her as one of their own.
Both Simone and Reyna speak perfect english and had no issues understanding my deep southern accent. Most importantly they both seem to have deep roots in the Sierpe community and are genuinely excited to share their love of the area with their guest.
While in Drake Bay we did take a snorkeling excursion as well as a hike in Corcovado that was scheduled through our travel agency. They both were your standard cat herding cruise ship kind of tours and not worth the time. Now that we know Reyna and Simone they will definitely be the first call we make when we return to Costa Rica and we look forward to seeing Corcovado and Cano Island with them.Written 12 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The experience was fantastic. Raby was extremely prompt in responding to emails / coordinating logistics and very easy to deal with. The trips were incredible. Raby has a great knowledge of different Costa Rican reptile / amphibian species and where you are most likely to see them. He has a great eye for finding herps too. We found basically all of our target species, plus some bonuses. Forget guidebooks, Osa Discovery Tours is your jungle compass. Our day tour delighted us so much that we took a second tour in the night! What a trip! Certainly, a photographer's dream! I always felt safe knowing that this company is fully insured and certified to be guiding these tours. One must be careful! My experiences have been incredible, in them I have been accompanied by JOSUÉ, exceptional guide, with a lot of experience and a lot of dedication, it is clear that he loves his work and it reflects a lot in his tours. Everything was Pura vida! 🌿

Initially when we booked they said it would be private with 2 of us. Anticipating a small boat, I said I’d prefer one more stable and comfortable. They said no problem, we will put you on the pontoon. When we got there, there was a man trying to coordinate a special deal for his family and paid $50 extra I believe to not have to share the boat. As it turns out, that was our pontoon. We ended up on a small boat, no backs to the seats...not private...engine went out several times...and though the guide was nice, he read most things from a book.
Worst experience in Costa Rica....and yes I did try to address when we returned and the manager did nothing.
