The snorkling and shark fishing was absolutely the most amazing experience. Our guides were fantastic, fun, and all in on the the experience with us.

Plenty of sharks, but far from natural (attracted by feeding). Way too many people in too small of a space. But fun and beautiful so it deserves 4 stars.

Less crowded than Hol Chan but more marine life - we even saw dolphins and turtles! Also not too many nurse sharks, if someone in your snorkeling party isn't into that.

Secret Beach is a lovely place with incredible beaches. We saw lots of colorful birds in the swamps nearby and there's lots of nature in the surroundings

Very lovely pieces by local artists! Fairly priced, staff was not welcoming nor helpful. Shop was over crowded with pieces. A staple if visiting San Pedro Town.

This place is a real gem of San Pedro. Miss Julie show my wife and I how to prepare ceviche and a delicious Belizan boil meal. It was a complete experience from cutting the vegetables to adding the spices, cooking the dishes, all the way to serving our delicious meal. We even had food to take home! During the time we spent preparing our meal, Miss Julie shared with us lots of information about the Garifuna people and history of the great diverse populations of Belize. We invited Miss Julie, her husband, Frank, and their two kids, who all run the restaurant to join us in our delicious meal, and it turned out to be one of our best parts of our trip to Belize. Miss Julie even won the lobster fest award or best lobster preparation in 2022! She's an amazing chef and shared so much with us. Thank you black and white restaurant Miss Julie and Frank.

There are not many recent reviews on Bacalar Chico so I was a little nervous about the trip. It is a pretty remote place so I think most people pass for closer snorkeling and dive sites. I was attracted to the opportunity to be someplace different and off the beaten path. And this is it, we did not run into anyone else in the reserve. There are no scheduled tours so a custom trip is the only way to go. We set up ours through Richard Gillette at Suya Tours. He hooked us up with Alan, our captain and Bryan his mate. The trip was totally unique. A one-hour boat ride from our South of San Pedro location brought us to a desolate reef area just South of the Mexican border. We fished for an hour in several locations and caught numerous varieties of snapper. Then we went to our first snorkel location where we hunted lobster and Conch. We caught some of both as well as seeing many tropical fish, lobster, barracuda, rays and a green moray eel among the reef. While we snorkeled a second location, Alan and Bryan made a wonderful Conch Ceviche for the next leg of our trip. We then entered the mangrove canal dug by the Mayans 1500 years ago. Supposedly, there are manatees in this area, but we did not see any. There are also seasonal turtles in the Summer. We stopped at the Bacalar Chico Ranger Station where Alan gave an interpretive summary of the history of the area while Bryan cooked up our Snapper and Lobsters for lunch. The ride back was about 45 minutes using the bay side so we got to tour the entire circumference of Ambergris Caye. It is a long day — started at 8 am and arrived back at our Villa at 5 pm— but well worth it and definitely a highlight. By the way, the guide books talk about an 11 mile trail system on the reserve but we did not see anything about them so I am not sure they still exist. Our guides have not taken anyone on the trails and there was no information at the ranger station.

Amazing experience to paint by the sea. We were lead perfectly by our instructor to paint a memory of Belize. Thank you for accommodating us and giving my daughter a fabulous time.

Eric requena took great care of us at secret beach. He was quick and treated us like family. The chef Sanchez cooked our food to perfection. The drinks were strong. Food was great. And the vibe definitely had us wanting to stay all day. I recommend it 10/10
