We do enjoy the day trip fling there. We do not mind getting up early for the transfer to airport but do have a concern for those who are not physical ready. There is a lot of walking. Depending on the guides, some will take you through the forest and that may become challenging for some people. If the guides follow the road, then it may be a longer way to go through the most important spots.
They do have simple transportation within the park. However, the little pick-up there is very old and I do question about the safety. Overall the arrangements were good and the lunch was enjoyable. As far as hotel pickup and drop off it was very good. Also the mini-bus from Flores Airport to the Tikal Park entrance has AC which is important as the temperature in Tikal can be 20+ degrees higher than Guatemala City on a regular day.

If you’re staying in Antigua or Guatemala City, and you want the full Lake Atitlan experience without having to risk your life driving there-this is the tour for you!

FYI Guatemala has some of the curviest roads I’ve ever seen-so if you get motion sick easily, take Dramamine. Nothing against the drivers, it’s just that there are zero straight roads to lake Atitlan.

Incredible trip! Safe, well organized, easy to communicate with organizers and guides, and a.very fun and informative day. This is a must-do in Guatemala, a great showcase of the most incredible history and nature.

My guide was Rony Eduardo Matus and he was beyond helpful and well informed - 10/10 do reccomend!

Fabio led our tour and he was incredible. He led us around parts of the capital and was able to explain a great amount of the history of Guatemala to us. I appreciated his kindness and ability to connect with everyone on the tour. He had some great food recommendations as well. Book and you will not be disappointed!

Our tour experience with By Authentic Guatemala on 5/21/22 was nothing short of amazing. Our driver Luis was on time and was great company on the 2 hour drive from Antigua. The car was clean and he drove safely. He dropped us off at Lake Atitlan about an hour early allowing us time to eat breakfast and have coffee with the locals. Afterwards I was in need of Lotion and he went store to store with us searching for some. Our tour then began to Joel(Yo-el) and he was equally as amazing. We're so thankful to him for sharing his story and culture with us giving us. I would 10/10 recommend this service.

Very cool experience! Hiking a volcano is a bit surreal. A little work to do but if you can walk two miles on a street no problem, not for coach potato people. Wear hiking shoes or boots not gym shoes. Nathan out guide was excellent and would highly recommend this tour.

We had a great evening with Esteban. He was very informative about the city and the culture. He made the trek up to the volcano interesting with stories from our local guide. Once we made it to the top our dinner was perfect. Would definitely recommend this tour!

Absolutely amazing tour!! The ATV ride was exhilarating!! I felt 100% safe with Juan Pablo. That means a lot coming from a solo traveler. If your in good health the hike is strenuous but doable. Having the ATV as an option is a good choice. Although I'm young, we'll youngish lol, I don't think I would have been able to hike! Glad I chose the ATV instead. The ride was about 40 mins. Then about 10 more mins to the bottom of the volcano where you meet your tour guide. Another active Volcano a few miles away was erupting! What an amazing sight! Totally recommend.

I booked a private shuttle to Antigua from gua city, however the weather was not on our side. Rafael suggested we visit the Hobbigeton area after I showed him 3 places I really wanted to see. Despite the bad weather and language barrier between Rafael and I, we had the most wonderful time exploring, taking photos and taking in the views. As a solo traveler he was a kind, accommodating, and knowledgeable companion. I would highly recommend booking a tour with him if you find yourself in Guatemala. He was wonderful!

My friend Corey and I had a wonderful time exploring the beautiful cities of Antigua and Guatemala City. It was especially awesome because our English speaking tour guide, Esteban Calvillo, who was not only well informed in the the history of Guatemala, but he really enjoyed teaching foreigners on the history as well. Antigua is a traveler's favorite, well known for its cobblestone streets, volcano views, colonial architecture, and also it is the best known preserved Spanish Colonial city in Central America. Absolutely loved it. We also visited some of the main important areas in Guatemala City such as Mercado Central (central market) where we bought some fun handicrafts, blankets, and leather products at very affordable rates. We also visited the Palacio Nacional (National Palace) and took some photos and hung out with some locals. Finally, one of my places we visited was a place called Kaminaljuyu which is the site of the ancient Mayan civilization that dated back to 1500 B.C
Thanks Esteban for making this tour very very fun and insightful. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Guatemala!

We had a wonderful day with Esteban. He was sure to communicate with us the day before to make sure that pickup was confirmed. He arrived in time and his car was clean and comfortable. Esteban is extremely well-versed in Guatemalan history and culture and not only was able to tell us about each place we visited but also was sure to point out all the interesting landmarks as we drove around the city. Since we were here during Semana Santa, he was able to coordinate watching one of the city’s many religious processions which would have been pretty overwhelming if we had tried to navigate it alone. Beyond his knowledge and professionalism, Esteban is just a really nice guy. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in Guatemalan history and culture and doesn’t have a lot of time in Guatemala City.
