My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights in early May, ‘22, and we enjoyed it very much. The first four nights were at the beginning of our visit to the Caucasus region, followed by another night about a week later before we flew to Georgia. The Fairmont Flame Towers is an excellent hotel and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
The hotel is located in one of the three towers of the Flame, an architectural masterpiece set on the hill above the historic quarter and the seaside promenade. Although it is somewhat removed from the central area, it is an easy walk to the nearby fununcular that ends near the carpet museum and the edge of the historic area. We found it was also easy and inexpensive to use Bolt or Uber to get to the hotel and to other places of interest.
The hotel is visually striking both inside and out. The soaring lobby has comfortable sitting areas and a bar/restaurant off to one side where breakfast was served. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, for example in assisting us to correct a problem with making international calls on our mobile phone, and directing us to the finuncular. The breakfast buffet was extensive, varied, and excellent in quality.
Our first room (1205) was on the 12th floor and the other (2006) was on the 2nd , both of them classified as “city view” rooms. The views are naturally better on higher floors, but even on the 2nd floor it was enjoyable. The layout of both rooms was similar, both spacious and attractively decorated. There was a very comfortable king-sized bed, with built-in night stands on both sides that oddly enough didn’t have outlets. There was a desk, dresser, closet with safe and lots of storage, an upholstered reading chair and divan. The mini-bar area had a very good single-cup coffee maker. The large bathroom had a separate area for the toilet, a large 2-headed shower and tub, and lots of counterspace. About the only negatives to either room beside the lack of outlets near the bed was that an automatically activated light in the bathroom was overly sensitive and went on incoveniently and rather brightly. As far as we could tell there was no way to de-activate it. Hardly a deal-breaker, though.
We made use of the excellent spa facilities, which included sauna and steam rooms, large swimming pool and hot pools, workout facilities, etc.
We recommend the Flame very highly.
