This was a fantastic day-trip from Ulaanbaatar. The guide met us on time in the hotel lobby and he spoke excellent English. The first part of the trip was very bumpy due to road construction, but then it got better. We did a quick stop at the impressive Genghis Khan statue, but the main event was the horseback riding in Terelj National Park. We enjoy a full three hours with the horses in magnificent nature, and then we were served lunch by the horse owner’s wife, in a traditional ger. So enjoyable, so well organised, so beautiful. Highly recommended!

We did a day tour yesterday and it was fantastic! We visited Terelj National Park, turtle rock, a monastery with chanting monks, went to a great lookout over the city, the Ghengus Khan Statue and museum and has a tasty lunch with a nomadic family in their ger, complete with an ox drawn carriage ride across the snow. It was a really cold day and snowing in the morning, but the minivan was warm inside and the driver was very good and safe. Our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and had perfect english. Everything went to plan and our 12 and 14 year old children really enjoyed the day as much as we did! We would highly recommend this day tour.

You can be free from the phone and society. The road is little tough but you can feel comfortable. Go and feel it

I did the Mongolia Trek the 1st 2 weeks of July 2023 with 4 other friends and have to say this was an experience almost beyond words. I have had the fortunate of being on two other Tusker Treks previously, Kilimanjaro and Patagonia, that were equally amazing. It was on the Patagonia trip where I was able to connect with another Tusker Trekker who had been to Mongolia and said, "if you ever get the chance to do that trip, you absolutely must do it. There is no other trip like it!" And he was right! Tusker trips are always phenomenally well-run with absolutely terrific guides, great equipment, fantastic food, and itineraries that are challenging yet accessible and always focused on client safety. The people that serve as guides and support the trek are some of the most friendly, generous, and kind folks that I have ever met, and by the end of the trip they are your friends. An interesting aspect of this trip is the opportunity to almost cover the entire distance on horseback, and even if you are not coming into the trip with much horse-riding experience, by the end of the trip you will be amazed and how much you have learned in a short-period of time. The scenery is fantastic, likely the most unspoiled place that I have ever been, and you keep being awed knowing that you are in one of the most remote places you can travel to. If all of that isn't enough, oh by way, the owner of Tusker Trails Eddie Frank personally leads this trip! If you want adventure stories, he's got 'em. And he goes above and beyond to learn the unique interests of the group that he is leading and finds creative and meaningful ways to make the trip extra special. This is the longest trip review I have ever written, I could go on and on, though hopefully this is enough to demonstrate how meaningful and amazing the Tusker Trails Mongolia Nomad Trip really is!

My tour guide Yogi was excellent. His English is a step above other tour non-native English speaking guides I've worked with. He was friendly, enthusiastic, and willing to adjust the tour to my personal interests. The itinerary was efficient, we hit on all the major spots I wanted to see. The stop at the monastery was informative for someone who knows very little about Buddhism (and Mongolia's history with it). The black market was really interesting and we spent the perfect amount of time exploring it. Highlight locations were the city lookout point and the museum. (Most skippable was the winter palace. Not entirely uninteresting, but not the most engaging.) The real highlight though was the opportunity to have in depth conversations in English with someone born and raised in Mongolia about every topic from politics to history to what life is like for the average Mongolian. Can't recommend Yogi enough!

All around fantastic experience, perfect comprehensive introduction to this fascinating country!

I planned a last minute trip to Mongolia and immediately booked this tour. I was in for a treat! My guide/driver was Nara and she was an amazing hostess. I was picked up promptly from my hotel in UB, we traveled through the countryside and had lunch, stopped at the wild horse reserve along the way, and ultimately got to our destination in the semi gobi desert. Along the way, we also saw several nomadic families migrating to different lands with all of their livestock. That was a sight to see! The nomadic host family who we stayed with is very kind. You’ll help them to make a meal to eat all together. Their camels are beautiful and the land they stay on is just stunning at any time of day. It’s an incredible experience to stay in a yurt and live that life albeit just for a night. I highly recommend this tour (and as a matter of fact, have suggested it to a few people now). You’re definitely in for a once in a lifetime experience.

it was eye opening where we get to see the nature and wild animals so close to us.
The guide and driver are really awesome. I am a city girl who first time join this Mongolia Tour, thus I may have a lot of request when i reach Mongolia. Like food i wish to have and also requesting camps that comes with attached toilet. Our guide Billy really had tried his best to accomplish what my request for me. Really appreciate his effort.
