What travellers are saying
- OfkiJakarta, Indonesia1 contributionVery strategic place for walking with family
The food court also provides a variety of foods at very competitive prices.
One thing that is very memorable for us playing here, when we were in the Mall our family was sick and vomiting.
But a young man who was on duty near the toilet was very quick to respond and even wanted to carry and sympathize until our family felt comfortable that he was always standing by to help.
Thank Mas Eva
We are proud of you

- TopKingofKingsUnited Kingdom605 contributionsThis is the biggest masjid in South East Asia and it is huge and impressive. Lucky to have prayed Dhuhr in Jamaat in there. Great facilities inside, and clean. Lots of small stalls outside of the masjid selling snacks, drinks, souvenirs etc.Written 17 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Claudya AJakarta, Indonesia29 contributionsIt's only an hour away by boat from Jakarta. You can do snorkel and diving, though the water is pretty muddy and water isn't very clear. Still it's good if you want to get some sea without going too far from the capital.Written 3 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RifqiMalang, Indonesia5 contributionsKota Tua Jakarta displays several buildings that have existed since the Dutch colonial era, so they have certain characteristics that other buildings do not have. Tourists from various regions and even foreign tourists visit the Kota Tua Jakarta to take photos, ride bicycles and enjoy culinary delights typical of the city of Jakarta. However, during the day the weather is very hot so it is recommended to visit Kota Tua Jakarta in the morning or afternoon for a better experience.Written 16 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - stoobzAl Khobar, Saudi Arabia83 contributionsI really enjoyed visiting the museum. There is a lot to look at and learn about - and as a non-native speaker, I found the QR code on each exhibit very convenient to get the translation.
The cable car ride is a novel way to see the entire park and all the structures therein; however, it can get a little hot and sticky in there so if it's a hot day in general, perhaps save the ride for another day.
A lot of staff might not speak English, but they are very polite and helpful; and a bit of common sense also goes a long way.Written 5 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The museum houses an impressive collection of many artifacts covering Indonesia’s Prehistory, Archaeology, Ethnography, Geography and Historical Relics. The Museum provides a good starting place to get a feeling of Indonesian culture prior to traveling through the countryside.Written 16 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marita1951Melbourne, Australia16 contributionsI am not a regular church goer, but my sister attends Mass every week. We took a luxury taxi from the Mandarin Oriental and it cost less than $20 Aus. It took about 30 minutes to get there. Coming back, we took a Blue Bird taxi and it was only $10 Aus.
The experience was wonderful. The inside and outside of the cathedral was packed, hundreds of people everywhere. The choir led the singing and it was lovely. The men and women who assisted with communion wore white robes with large purple satin collars (maybe purple for Lent). After communion all the children arrive. Ages ranged from newborn babies to young teenagers, accompanied by parents if very young. They go to the priest for a blessing. It was very sweet.
The Cathedral is beautiful. I loved the stained glass windows.
We also popped into St Teresa’s Church near Sarinah Mall on another day. We were welcomed by lovely people who were ushering people who had come for reconciliation. We declined. There is a school attached and I loved the girls pretty uniforms, very different and much more stylish. The boys wore shirts of the same fabric.Written 19 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
