One of our reasons for going to Cebu City was to visit the majestic Simala Church, which was 3 hours away by car. We were advised that the place is packed during weekends so we opted to go there on a Monday instead. The church is very big, and a great place to take photos. However, the highlight of our visit was to line up, touch, and pray to the image of Our Lady of Lindogon, which is believed to be miraculous. I will not mind paying a visit to this place again and again if there is a chance.

This lake is ok for a look if on a tour of Camotes. It's cheap entrance and can enjoy a coconut drink or boat or kayak ride. Not much else to do here.

Most of the day was low tide so we had to walk far before we were able to swim. But the beach was nice and clean. There was a lot of sea urchin and starfish tho so watch out.

"M/V Eva Jocelyn" is the large cargo vessel that was swept ashore in the coastal barangay of Anibong amid the huge storm surge triggered by the deadly super typhoon exactly five years ago.

The bow of the ship has been transformed by the city government into a tourist spot. Rest of the vessel has been removed.

You can temporarily park on the road during your visit. Don’t need a lot of time there. Good 15-20 minutes is enough to visit and use the photo opportunity.
No costs involved. Worth a stopover during the city tour.

We went there very early in the morning during low tide. Advantage of that would be having almost uninterrupted photo taking session. But I think it would be best to visit during high tide as the view would be much better. Entrance fee is at P55. Our guide advised it is a 1km walk over sturdy bamboo docks. Popularized by the movie Camp Sawi. Great for people who love nature. You can also feed fish along the way. The view overlooking the ocean near the Camp Wagi sign just looks amazing.

Very affordable.... but on our last visit last Saturday July 16, 2022, a night before our visit, heavy rain was experienced the whole night, and on early Saturday morning, Santiago bay beach was full of woods, coconuts which was brought by the the heavy rain a created an average flash flood and ended at the beach of Santiago Bay....

Fantastic conservation center operated by some passionate zoologists and volunteers. We had a volunteer tour guide that gave us so much information about all the animals in the center. Get to hangout and pat the zoo ambassadors (eagles, lizards, snakes etc.). Kids (and adults) were fully engaged the whole time. Highly recommended!

This is a great little beach, but it's hard to get to. Here's how we did it.
Punta Bunga beach is a public beach which anyone can visit. Unfortunately, the three hotels which front it, namely the Shangri-La, the Movenpick and the Crimson, like to think they own it, and they like people to believe it's a private beach.
There is a public path down to it (see previous reviews) but we asked our Electric Tricycle driver to take us to the Shangri-La. We had to negotiate three checkpoints, where security guards quizzed us about our room number, whether we had a booking etc. We simply replied we were visiting Punta Bunga public beach. They reluctantly allowed us through, and instructed us not to enter the hotel. Once we arrived at Shangri-La reception, the hotel escorted us via their own electric carts to the beach footpath, presumably to make sure we didn't stray into the hotel grounds.
On the beach, we sat on the sand and swam in the sea, which was lovely and quite private-feeling. When we wanted to leave. we walked through the Movenpick grounds and entered their reception and asked them to arrange an electric tricycle. They asked our room number, and I replied we weren't staying at the hotel and we'd come from the Shangri-La, which wasn't a complete lie and seemed to keep them happy.
Enjoy the beach; it's well worth a visit.

Located near my hotel, it is one of the attractions I visited. The Belfry and the beautiful Park are in the same vicinities.

Inside this church are statues, beautiful altar, etc. I said my prayers before moving on.

I think it was low tide when we went to the cave which was beautiful! Rock forms was elegant and mysterious at the same time. It would be great if someone was talking about the history of the cave.

The cave was clean and tidy which I really appreciate it.
