This whole area is heavily commercialised and can get crowded. That said, it is a wonderful sight and you will not be disappointed. There are two ways to view the glacier, by boat and by land via the boardwalks that take you right down to the lake. This land option is great because it is well designed route with many vantage points. There is a fair amount of walking and steps but the walking impaired can still see most of the glacier without doing it all. There is also a lift to take you part of the way. I have sen glaciers before but to get this close is not often afforded.

The guide I had was knowledgeable and made sure we had an interesting day. Its a long drive from El Calafate, so it was a long day but well worth it for the awesome sight of the glacier from land and boat. The 1 hour boat ride gave a different and fabulous view. My trip returned to the glacier after the boat trip for sn hour which I think was pointless as seen it before the boat trip. But cafe on site which was handy. Although cafe had limited sandwiches ( only 2 type) , so busy I had to eat standing up and long queue to get served.

    But complete awe inspiring day

We took a boat tour (and a cruise) through the Beagle Channel. The scenery is amazing....snow capped mountains, wildlife, and even penguins. We were lucky to have great weather so viewing was very easy. Any trip through the Beagle Channel is going to be great.

A beautiful National Park with such rich colours and diversity in landforms. It's an easy day trip with the local guides doing a wonderful job of taking you to stunning locations and points of interesting geography. Beautiful landscapes, trees, and mountains. The ocean views are something else.

As someone who is interested in monitoring the progress of climate change, glacial progression to me is one of the clearest indicators. Thus, seeing Ventisquero Negro on Cerro Tronador is a marvel for the eyes and the mind. Be ready for a bumpy and long ride, but our guide was great at providing context on the Parque Nahuel Huapi and the wonder of Cerro Tronador.

There are many stopping points along the way as well, and these mountains will again provide value and an amazing experience in themselves. As a company, Huilliches again provided a solid guide.

My husband and I biked a portion of Circuito Chico and while I have absolutely no complaints about the process of rental, the views or any of the stops along the way, I feel like I need to put it out there that this is a difficult path to bike. I consider myself in relatively good shape and most of the first part of this path is almost entirely uphill and it is STEEP. Please don't let that be a deterrent from seeing the circuit but just choose your mode of travel knowing that. I ended up having to walk my bike up some of the parts - which would have been challenging without a bike but much easier to just walk not having to push the bike with me! Definitely stop at Punto Panoramico and Patagonia for a beer!

Going back the other way was MUCH easier as it was a lot of downhill :)

My husband and I hiked Laguna Esmeralda last November. It snowed the night before our hike so we knew the trail will be very muddy. Luckily, we were prepared for this condition so had brought along our rubber shoe covers from home. This saved our hiking shoes from being ruined.

Our wonderful host in Ushuaia arranged our taxi ride. It took about 20 minutes to get to the parking lot and cost us 23 USD r/t. We shared the ride with another couple and there was no entrance fee for this trail.

Our driver told us he’ll pick us up in four hours and gave each of us a walking stick. I didn’t think I needed one, but realized very soon into the hike how GLAD I was to have the pole when I got stuck in ankle-deep mud! The trail was muddy all the way to the lagoon – with some portion covered in wooden planks. You don’t need a guide for this hike. There are markers along the trail, but we mostly followed other hikers.

There’s no bathroom or vendor selling food along the trail, so have a light breakfast and bring water and snacks (i.e. banana). There were also no trash bins, so be sure to take your trash with you. The lagoon was indeed very pretty, but it’s the scenery along the way that was breathtaking. We wished we had more time because we rushed in the end. Highly recommend this trail if you are visiting Ushuaia!

If you want to take a wonderful day trip out of Bariloche then what a better way to explore the surrounding areas than taking the magnificent 7 Lakes Road connecting the city of Bariloche in the Rio Negro Province with San Martin de los Andes in Neuquén province.
You'll go pass the 7 lakes, reason why this portion of Route 40, the equivalent of Route 66 in the U.S. is named after.
There are several view points and picturesque towns resembling the Bavaria Region of Germany.
It is a Road to be taken with time, no rush here!
Views are indeed amazing, it will take you a good 4 hours to reach San Martin de Los Andes stopping a long the way to enjoy the beautiful views.

I took this trip back in January 20191

No vegetation around it and it’s quite windy, but lots of wildlife. We saw flamingos, a condor, juanguanacos, and Rhea’s. Had a great time watching the kite surfers too.
