The museum has a lot of artwork but unfortunately, all the descriptions are available only in Spanish. The souvenir shop is very small and we did not find any interpretations of the paintings such as postcards or magnets.Written 4 May 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The tour got a little tedious in parts but was very good overall. The tour lasted about an hour.
The Center is named after Saint Romero but most of the focus is on the massacre of Jesuit priests and two women that occurred at the site. The tour provides a good explanation of the massacre and other aspects of the war. The Cathedral is also part of the tour and has some interesting art.
I would consider it a must-see sight if you want to learn about the Civil War.Written 25 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Miles ArcherBoca Raton, FL7,557 contributionsPre-Columbian artifacts, Mayan, on display. So are Colonial period exhibits. Not extensive but interesting and informative. I've been to some Mayan sites, but I have others I want to visit, including Copan. This museum is a must if you have any interest in Mesoamerican culture and history.Written 9 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BGBeverlyhillsBeverly Hills, CA49 contributionsI was lucky enough to attend a ballet performance of the opera Carmen, which was the highlight of my San Salvador visit.
It’s a very elegant place , and it’s unfortunate that except for a nice literary coffee shop a few feet away there’s absolutely no nice restaurant around. The historic center of this city badly needs a reconfiguration.Written 19 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mikebrownnzCardiff, UK1,082 contributionsThis small inexpensive museum is run by a not for profit foundation called MUPI dedicated to the investigation, rescue, preservation and dissemination of the historical and cultural heritage of El Salvador.
As well as changing exhibitions, this museum has permanent exhibitions focusing on how El Salvador was changed by the events of 1932 and 1981 and on the life of Oscar Romero, who was canonized by Pope Francis in 2018 as El Salvador's first saint, who was assassinated on a chapel altar in 1980 and was proclaimed a martyr.Written 13 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are luxury stores and movie theaters inside. Very crowded place so if you’re looking for a place to relax perhaps might want to go some other day.Written 11 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - YolipdxPortland, OR67 contributionsVisited last month with my family. El Árbol de Dios is an institute, gallery and gift shop. We had the pleasure of speaking with the artist and watching them work during our visit. The gallery displays the most beautiful work and many pieces are very affordable, too. We left very impressed and happy with the entire experience.Written 2 April 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JJAdams1Nunavut, Canada24 contributionsAwesome Atmosphere, good food and great cover bands! Prices are very affordable, the mixologists are international grade. The place is clean, spacious, comfortable and free of smoke.
The stage its awesome, gives bit a nostalgia for those acquainted with other Irish pubs and small theaters where great rock bands used to play in the 80's. If your visiting San Salvador and want to go out, sing your lungs out with your friends while having some good food and drinks, Republik should be included in your list of destinations.Written 27 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. If you want to have fun with your friends, this is a nice option, not that expensive as it's around $18 per hour, and $1.5 or $2 to rent the shoes, which by the way are also old, so check them before using them, if they are in bad shape, ask for another pair.
The bowling floor is in good condition, so the whole Bowling experience is ok. They have a system that every 30 mins, they turn off the lights and everything glows in the dark!Written 19 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's not particularly big, but if you are looking for some theatre in El Salvador, it is one of the best spots.Written 6 January 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
