picked up right on time by Danish, then driven through Dubai to pick up 4 more passengers, and then out into the desert.
First stop was to transfer to the vintage land rovers (apart from one of our party that had chosen the camel option) and to collect the headwear and the water bottle.
Next, we stopped for a bit of walking up the dunes to see the expanse of sand (even bigger than Weston super mare with the tide out) and then on to the falconry display.
Then it was on to the campsite for the main part of the evening. We had the chance to ride a camel in a small circle for a minute or so, followed by an interesting dismount. Aquick tour of the site and the salad was produced.
After salad, we picked up our main courses from a buffet style and very nice it was too.
Following the entertainment, it was pretty relaxed and our group was treated a cake to celebrate my birthday. Then came the sale of photos taken throughout the evening. I bought 10 which cost 100AED and I also got my free short video as I had booked well in advance.
Finally, a bit of smoking for those who wanted it and then back in the landrover to the people carrier for the trip back into the city. A lovely way to spend my birthday!!
