#2 of 26 Museums in Siem Reap
Having visited countless war museums across the globe due to a historical fascination on my part, I doubt I will ever have the opportunity to get the same impact this museum and Mr. Suon has on me, in any further...
He fought in the war, told us about his family, his experience, the weapons he used and it really helped us in a way that the textbooks and other museums cannot do.

I had been to the other museums and tourist spots in Seam Reap but I enjoyed here the most.
Unusual museum full of "trick art" Really fun and clever paintings to take lots of photos!

After seeing the beauty of the temples in Cambodia we had a day of visiting museums.
BUT it is definitely one of the most memorable museums I have ever visited.

we loved the war museum, the tour guides are free (Tip Them!) and incredible with great stories of there own experiences, you get to hold and touch everything unlike some museums that lock it all away behind glass.
This is a small, community-run museum, with an emphasis on employing disabled land mine survivors and veterans of the civil war and Khmer Rouge period, which sets it apart from other war museums in Cambodia.

This is one of the best museums that I have ever been in .. my husband & I were fortunate to meet one of the museum guides named Chan..his knowledge & courtesy of this amazing museum was exemplary...I do recommend...
Most of the artefacts aren't very well preserved compared to other history museums but this is consistent with all the other monuments in siem reap that i have seen.

The traditional teak home and museum entry portion is exceptional, then it goes into local crafts and purchases.
This time we took a small group to introduce them to places to see that aren't temples :) Since past visits there is now a small museum, which you will be guided through by a wonderful host (at no cost).

We discovered McDermott's amazing photographs on the walls of the National Museum in Phnom Penh and were happy to find his gallery in Siem Reap.
Day 4 I happened to swing by this Art Gallery (walk in, free admissions) and it really cemented all the experiences I'd gathered; to be honest, more than the National Museum down the road!
