This is a lovely "ancient" shopping street located right next to the Wuhou Ci (Wu Hou Shrine Temple of Marquis) where many ancient building structures, historical shop/tea houses along the tiny walklanes and bridges, where you will find like walking into the memory lane of ancient China, though a little touristy.

There are many eateries, restaurants and food booths here, with local and international cusines and you will be spoiled for choices, not to mention, many shops selling souvenirs and local delicacies, arts and handicrafts etc. There's also an open air teahouse where you can enjoy live singing performances (2pm-8pm) while having your drinks under the trees and clear blue sky.

If you come in the evening, that will be perfect as the area wil be lit with many beautiful red lanterns along the walklanes and bridges. It's so nice.

This is probably one of the "must visit" places in Chengdu and making a trip here can allow you to indulge the local history, food and arts culture, and of course lifestyle of the people here. The old shophouses located on both sides on the small walking paths, have been given a refurnished with a new lease of life, signaling the young and energy vibes of the city. These shophouses (also the makeshift stalls) are now mainly retail businesses, selling local souvenirs, toys, arts and handicrafts, foods and drinks etc.

Because of these, the place is very crowded as lots of visitors and also quite touristy. Many shops have staff stationed outside their premise to tout passersby to go into their shops to buy things or watch the "facechanging" performances etc. Well, that's interesting but just smile and walk through them (unless you have intention to buy their products).

Located around the Chunxi Road Metro Station, the Tai Gu Li is a busy all day throughout shopping belt and it is more of a high end shopping. There are many international brand and boutique stores located here (together with some local brands and shopping centers) and if you are a shopaholic or fancy these branded goods, here is the place to go.

And there are also many eateries and restaurants, be it local or foreign, you will have ample food options and choices.

Also from here, you can walk to the IFS to see the great panda display or should you need to take the airport shuttle bus, here is where you should go.

Even if you are not into shopping, coming by here will allow you to indulge in the local culture and lifestyle and you can also see street performers here too at night!

This is a popular shopping and night entertainment belt. It resembles the pedestrian streets of Nanjing West Road in Shanghai and Wanfujing in Beijing.

There are plenty of shops and restaurants here and the place comes alive at night with the neon lights.

I discovered both higher end restaurants and small shops offering popular Sichuan cuisines.

Given that this is right in the center of downtown, best way to visit is by public transport as the roads are very congested at peak hours.

After walking around the temple grounds, make sure to explore the streets around the temple, which have some excellent arts and crafts shops and museums. Plus plenty of dining options.

While Chengdu is old, having been a major stop on the Silk Road, very little of the old remains. Chengdu is a bustling city or maybe 20 million, and so most of the old has been erased or built over many times. So, to feel old China, you go to places like the monastery, the streets around it, Jinli street, and the ā€œwide and narrowā€ streets.

Well I went strolling down to Tianfu Square on a friendā€™s recommendation and it turned out to be a great place. It depicts the local culture and the great architecture built in one place. The statute of the great Chinese leader and the shops / food outlets all around it present an amazing opportunity for the tourists. Must visit for shoppers and wanderers.

It was more of the same but not as large or crowded as some of the more famous streets in Chengdu. I was very happy to find a Dairy Queen though hahaha!

This tomb is not very big - you really don't been to spend more than 20 mins or so here - but it is certainly interesting. It's also a little far from any of Chengdu's other attractions so it is a bit of a pain to get to.

Entry onto the wall was 30 RMB for adults - although like many attractions - free if your over 60! The walk is steep but easyish - take a photo of the park at the bottom so you can map your progress . There are drinks and toilet stops along the way and the views across the mountain ridge great. The entry ticket , I believe gives you access to bus back down the mountain once at the top, if you want to walk back down ,donā€™t go through last turnstile and miss the temple. We went to the temple and went down using the roller coaster and slide, 60 RMB for the two rides( includes entry ticket). Worth every penny! The first roller coaster is a cross between bob slay and roller coaster, need to use the brakes! The slide they give you gloves for braking and trousers to save rear wear! We had caught a didi ride from Chengdu, 50 minutes around 100 RMB , and finally found Wi-Fi to arrange return one same sort of cost.

Many of the woman of Chengdu are very fashion conscious, and love to shop. Yulin Road is one of the main shopping streets in Chengdu. You can find high end fashion here. It is a pretty street that in fact does have brick sidewalks that are well cared for, instead of the broken concrete you will find in a lot of the other parts of the city. One word of caution, if you are a woman that wears anything above a small size 8, you will not find anything in your size in any of the stores here. The sales people, if they speak English, have absolutely no problem telling you they have nothing in your size., even if you are there to just browse or buy something for someone else, so make sure you have your "thick skin" with you. Seriously!! Pack accordingly when you come to China.

International Brand Stores, Luxury Restaurants, Clubs and Live Performances, and many other venues to enjoy... Yes; expensive!!! but this shopping mall has a different feeling than the rest you will find in ChengDu; Grab you wallet, watch your budget and enjoy a nice dinner or night with your friends or couple; this is one of the chosen places by foreigners to have fun in ChengDu. Public Art exhibits are common too, don't miss it.

This road is quite busy for both foot traffic and cars and bikes. The 900-meter-long Qintai Road featuring structures and buildings with the styles of the Han (202BC -- 220AD) and Tang (618 - 907) dynasties, is a famous cultural street to commemorate two legendary figures, Zhuo Wenjun and Sima Xiangru!
If you have the time, I recommend you spend some time on Qintai Road.
