I came here a number of years ago as a teenager with my family, and had to take my wife here when we found ourselves in the area. This place is an absolute blast, for any and all ages.

There is so much arcade history packed into one small storefront. Each vintage machine has a plaque detailing its history and fun facts about it, making it nostalgia heaven for anyone who spent their childhood in arcades.

Best of all, you can play any machine you want! For a relatively reasonable entrance fee, you get unlimited game play on any machine you want. And they don’t just have pinball: there’s vintage video games, skee ball, and other arcade classics dating from the 50’s all the way through modern day. We spent over 2 hours here and enjoyed every minute.

If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. You’ll be glad you did!

Long known as a destination for music history buffs and architecture fans, Asbury Park has become an unlikely cultural hub on the Jersey Shore.
Asbury Park's pristine shoreline offers a perfect setting to relax, read a book, or take a dip in the ocean. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available for rent throughout the beach. Rental fees vary from $10-$15 each, depending on the day of the week

Bored? then venture to the Boardwalk for a diverse culinary experience. Grab a mouthwatering burger from the famous The Speakeatery, a Korean taco from MOGO, or indulge in fresh seafood at Langosta Lounge. I would definitely suggest Mogo restaurant and it has another branch nearby on Cookman Avenue.

No trip to the boardwalk is complete without seeing the circa 1920s Convention Hall Grand Arcade, located at 1300 Ocean Avenue. Inside Convention Hall, you’ll find the Paramount Theater, another historic Asbury Park landmark, as well as an assortment of cute gift shops, Asbury Park Roastery, an oyster bar, and the Anchor’s Bend, an oceanfront bar and grill.

As the sun begins to set, head to one of the many live music venues that make Asbury Park a renowned music destination, and on the day I visited, it was planned too.

One can enjoy the bike ride from Belmar, enjoying the scenic route north along Ocean Avenue through Avon, Bradley Beach, and Ocean Grove.

Parking is a pain, good luck with finding parking spots on weekends.

We love to visit Asbury Park, and it just wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Paranormal Tower! The shop itself is always filled with interesting books and accoutrements, staff is friendly and informative, and their events are first rate! This visit, we decided to take the museum tour. We’ve never done it before, so we were quite excited. Our tour guide Sarah was amazing! She was an absolute fount of information, and she had so many fun anecdotes to share, as well! The tour was well-paced- we never lingered too long, but we were also never rushed. There’s quite a lot to see there, as well! My son’s favorite part was an authentic plague mask. I really enjoyed the Ed Warren painting, the Annabelle painting, and the doll collection. There’s definitely something for everyone from those interested in the paranormal, to those interested in history itself.

The eye catching design of the 1920's Paramount Theatre with it's capacity of 1600 is located on the boardwalk seafront with an arcade connecting to the 3000 seated Convention Center. The buildings are included on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Worth a visit.

Of all the interesting things to do in Asbury Park - of which there are many - I find the Parlor Gallery at the forefront of ways to spend my free time. I've been going there for years now, and it has never been anything less than interesting and worthwhile. The curator, Jenn Hampton is smart, accessible, genuinely friendly and has about the best laugh to be found anywhere in town. Also, she's very knowledgeable about the works up on those walls, and loves talking about it. Jenn also curates the "Wooden Walls" project which is found through-out AP, making the building walls and areas so much more alive. People are too often intimidated to just walk into a gallery; you don't feel that there. There's a great smaller back area awash with art, also, and even the rest-room has vivid, varied works to enjoy and possibly consider. The sight of the enormously beaded praying Mantis that's in the galleries front window makes the walk down Cookman Ave. so worth taking, along with the works behind it. There's a very good Chinese/Sushi restaurant - "Rice," which is a BYOB - directly across the street, and "Brando's," "Taka" (also a knock-out) and "Johnny Mac's" are footsteps away. Excuse the cliche, but the whole area is a winner, and a fine way to spend an afternoon checking it out.

Wonderful place to cool off after sitting on the beach in the heat. Kids love it getting wet and running around. Also a great way to clean off after sitting at the beach. Not open at night.

We always travel with our dog and a welcome area to get on the beach with her. We were there early in the season and there was dogs not on leash.A word from a responsible dog owner~ if you can't control your dog leave him/her ON leash. A small dog was very aggressive with our dog ( who was on leash). Irresponsible dog owners ruin for all of us dog lovers.

Antique Emporium of Asbury Park is loaded with vintage trinkets and clothing. The sea breeze passing through the hall is a trademark part of the store's atmosphere.

This is a great shore home. They are restoring the home to its original state and it's coming along. The house, all it's floors and rooms are open for public viewing. They have scheduled numerous events at the home. Music, movies and informative representation make this a stop now and in it's evolving future.

Love the menu here! My all-time favorite is visiting when the weather is warm and sitting outside! Always a great experience, except for my most recent visit when noticed my favorite mixologist, Jordyn is not working. My visit just didn't feel the same! Hope to see her again real soon!

Beers are good, they have local bands on Friday nights, hipster style environment. Just remember to go past the wire fence to get in, your nav will stop you short. They also might not have a full array of beers depending on what is ready at the time.

This was our second visit to Hot Sand. We went last year when in Asbury Park and made sure to make it a point to come back. This is a unique experience that allows you to make a one of a kind souvenir. The people who work you are great. While there I made a vase. The glass blower/ artist who worked with me walked me through the process step by step and explained the science, techniques, and art behind glassblowing. The vase will be shipped to my in about a week ( it take a bit for it to cool and be finished). It will go perfectly with the candy dish I made last year. They have safe projects for the little ones too.
