We recommend choosing the retro bus since it was unlimited use and stopped at more sites.
The large site is split into four areas, and there is transport available between them.
Inuyama Castle Inuyama
The view, the castle, the history, the shrines, the onsen hotel next to it, and the direct connections to / from Nagoya, Gifu and the airport -- definitely a must-go.
This album contains pictures of the castle's exterior and interior, as well as views from the top of the keep, pictures from the town, and pictures of the shrine (which predates the castle) at the base of the fort.
The river was really clean and there was a path to allow you walk down to explore the river and the view from the bottom was also scintillating.
The site was very clean.

It is quite charming, quiet, a touch of nostalgia, and always the view up front into the future (modern bus station).
