Superb view of the island . Check the weather before you go up if you can see the skycab it should be ok . We used a grab cab and it cost us 4 MLR from Hotel Danna. We went at 10 am . There was no queueing for tickets or the ride up . However if you had to queue for tickets at the start and the queue was long it would have been very hot at the base. Perhaps we were lucky on the numbers of people as it is Ramadan . The views were absolutely stunning . To do the sky bridge is 6MLR extra and you can pay for that when you are up there. Steps are quite steep and could be an issue to those not very mobile.
You can use cash or card
Grab cab for return - again 4MLR . Doing the skycab is easy to do it for yourselves

Crossing from Kuala Perlis in an old crowded and bad smelling ferry took 1,5 hours. The timetables had changes as the water level on mainland couldn't allways permit departure. When returning after three weeks I had to travel to the small fishing village Kuala Kedah for the same reason. Luckily there was a fixed priced taxi to Alor Setar 20 minutes away and a commuter train to Butterworth once an hour costing only 7 rm.

Booked the ferry from Langkawi to Ko Lipe at the Telaga Harbour terminal itself the day before with no issues (February, 2020) . The ferry itself is through the Satun Pakbara Speed boat company. On the way to Ko Lipe the water was very choppy (1 metre swell) so I felt quite ill by the time we arrived. There are two levels on the ferry and the very lower level was better for my queasy stomach. Saying this, on the return trip the waters were a lot calmer. Not being one to really follow tides etc I am not sure if this was to do with with timing of the ferry ride - we caught the 9.30am to Ko Lipe and the 4pm ferry back the following day.

The processing through immigration at Telaga terminal is fairly quick leaving and returning to Langkawi, if a little officious . The whole process when you arrive on Ko Lipe on the other hand takes a little longer, but they are a bit friendlier.

Due to the water depth in Ko Lipe, you are pick up from, and dropped back at the ferry by longtail boats. Just be mindful on the return trip to the ferry - getting from the longtail onto the ferry can be challenging, especially if the sea is a little rough.

I wouldn't suggest doing the return ferry trip on the same day unless you really have no other choice. Try to at least stay over night on Ko Lipe just to do the place justice and to allow yourself time to relax - despite being touristy, the beaches are stunning.

Langkawi Taxi Service in Cenang, Langkawi is a good and reliable service, although they do not have taximeters, but fixed rates between places, have taxis for 4 passengers, 6 & 8 seaters (plus 50% to 100% on price), while the taxi-drivers normally are helpful, polite and non alcohol-drinkers (muslims) and not all of them speak good understandable English. Normally you don’t need a taxi to go around Cenang beach area and the longest drive in Langkawi is about 40 min (is 25 Km from North to South).
We have taken (1) a taxi from the airport to our hotel in Cenang Beach in Langkawi (and the opposite), (2) from Cenang Township to Kuah (capital of the island) and retour, as well as a taxi (3) to go around the island [(about 4-5 hours), e.g. 7 wells waterfalls, Black Sand beach, Cable Car, Crocodile farm, white beach, etc.]. For the last two trips we have used a taxi (8 seater van) with a very good taxi-driver (named Hamid bin Ngah), who was reliable, entertaining and polite. The prices were fixed and this was good in avoiding (in the majority of cases) any possible dispute (although a little bargaining could be done).
In order to go around we have used taxis from the two taxi stands on Jalan Pantai Chenang (a) one almost opposite the Cenang Mall and (b) the other outside the Langkawi Aquarium (Underwater World Langkawi), where they have the tables with the fixed prices for all possible taxi routes in the island of Langkawi.
Summing up we found the Langkawi Taxi Service reliable, we had good taxi-drivers and we cannot hesitate to suggest them.

Don’t hesitate to use Mr Hanif, he’s very reliable and always on time! He speaks very good English and has a great knowledge of the islands attractions. Easy to contact on WhatsApp (his number is +60 11-3537 5321) and very responsive.

Great views, the wind blows so soft n cool, sunlight is great, not to be missed. The waiting line is fast, n the cable car riding is great n scary at the same time. We enjoyed so much.

The 6D animation and 3D muzium are the best. We love it.

We pre-booked two half day excursions with GC Butler, our guide was Nor GC.
He was helpful, experienced, fun, professional and overall very easy-going. If you want to have a worry free excursion, book through GC Butler. They will arrange everything for you, pick you up from where you are staying, drop you off after you are done, stay with you throughout the day, giving lots of useful information, tips and taking photos and videos all the time.
Nor later shared all the photos with us and I was surprised of the amount. Many photos were taken without us even noticing, which made them even more authentic and spontaneous.
Thank you Nor for two wonderful trips.

We had one of the best days of our holiday with langkawitaxiservice.com. I booked early for our group of 7 people visiting the island for one day from a cruise.
Firstly it was easy to make the arrangements from the UK by email (langkawitaxi@yahoo.com) and questions were quickly answered. When we arrived we were met on time by the driver/owner who was lovely and informative.
We started with a 3 hour island hop which we all loved. We fed eagles and visited beaches and reserves. The boat trip was fast and exillerating - be prepared for a bumpy but fun ride!
We next went to the Skybridge, the entry was not included in the price, but as the trip was so reasonable per person it was not a problem at all. We had a fantastic gondola ride over the rain forest and walked along the Skybridge. My advice would be to buy a ticket that includes the transport from the gondola to the actual sky bridge, it is quite a hike in the steamy climate.
We followed this by visits to Eagle Square, some waterfalls and finally to Kuah for duty free shopping.
In Kuah some of our group were gasping for a beer, can I recommend a small cafe called Dominos. We had beers and a wonderful tuna sandwich which was tastier than any food on the cruise ship! We were the only people in the cafe and the owner and his wife were lovely.
We were taken back to the ship on time and safely by our driver.
Highly recommended by all our group who were a mixed group from Australia, UK and New Zealand.

The so called " tour guides " were rowdy and loud. They were blasting musics, singing loudly and shouting at each other most of the time, like a bunch of drunkards, entertaining themselves throughout.

Other than the 2 to 3 hours of actual snorkeling (this timing includes the lunch break), they rest of the time was spent on traveling and countless waiting. That's the so called "Full Day Tour-Payar Island Beach by XQ Holiday" a total of 9 hours itinerary.

Now you decide for yourself, should you give this tour a MISS!!
