- Tour3876293313010 contributionsThe museum's content and presentations are beyond my expectation for a private, non-profit. The guide is passionate in narrating the history of the Hakka community in the Kinta Valley. It didn't stop there, it even traced the root of the migrants with great accuracy. Navigating the narrow building is a walk down memory lane of Ipoh and the early history of then Malaya. With such passion and hopefully with more financial support, I hope Ipoh World will uncover and present many other historical gems of Ipoh like Dr Wu Lien-teh and Prof Wang Gungwu.Written 21 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Steve RBolton, UK599 contributionsIf you're in the area then you should definitely visit Perak Tong. It's one of a few temples within a cave in Malaysia and has a relaxed and thought provoking vibe to it. I can recommend it but only for an hour or so.Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- s cPetersburg, VA591 contributionsSmall house museum dedicated to the founder of Ho Yan Hor herbal tea. I was not familiar with the brand. Thought museum worth a look while in old Ipoh. Given a brief welcome orientation by personable young woman then left to wander. Building over 100 years old so only 1 person allowed on stairs at a time. End of tour offered tastings of tea. Inspiring success story.Written 22 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- AllanJane_11Melbourne, Australia461 contributionsAs others have mentioned this is one of the older temples, the garden and exterior buildings are lovely and evoke a spiritual feeling. Our guide told us that the other temples are more patronised and the temple doesn't receive many donations hence their inability to spend a great deal on maintenance.
The interior is very interesting with several statues and some very old art works.
When you exit the temple at the rear you are surrounded by limestone cliffs on all sides, very impressive .
I would suggest going with a guide to understand the artworks.Written 23 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Interesting paintings depicting daily life of Ipoh residents are available in the old town. Searching for artworks while exploring the former mining city is an enjoyable experience.Written 21 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
