We travel to experience unique and local foodways and so George Town has been a long time goal. We’d done enough research to know that there would be a lot to learn and experience in the week we had in Penang.
Sandy helped us hit the ground running with a wide ranging tasting tour filled with cultural and historical insights - and delicious food!
She gave us number of great additional recommendations but also the confidence to go out and explore the cultural wealth this region has to offer. Thanks Sandy for our introduction to Penang’s food!

Amy’s cooking class was an excellent family experience. The market tour in the morning was a great way to learn some history about Penang and the ingredients being used. We shared a very tasty local breakfast next to the markets. The cooking school was very clean and spacious. The Amy and the team take their time to teach you how to cook delicious authentic Malaysian food, and are some of the nicest people we have met on our holiday. I would highly recommend this as a great way to spend some time while in Georgetown, especially if you are travelling as a family.

A very enjoyable tour. Brandon is a great host who put his small group of strangers at ease straight away. We had an adventure filled with delicious food, good company and fascinating insights of culture and history.
It was not only a highlight of our Penang stay but it gave us confidence to order and eat at local spots. We returned to the Ayam ros, chicken samosa and Char Koay Teow spots he introduced us to. The meeting spot even became our cold drink oasis when we were in that area.
    Thanks again Brandon

We had a very informative food tour with Pho. She gave us so much information about the city, their culture and the food. I love when food tours are more than just about the food.

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Most importantly he took us to explore a range of delicious foods in a variety of places in the UNESCO part of George Town with its rich blend of cultures and food. It all came together to provide a wonderful experience for the whole family.
The chicken samosas were a highlight from the street vendor.
I recommend you don’t have any breakfast before starting this trip!
This was an experience for all the senses. Thank you.

"Going on the food tour with Tiger was seriously amazing! He took us on a wild food adventure through Penang, starting with mind-blowing nasi kandar that set the bar high. Then, he surprised us with a cool forest picnic that was just so different and fun, showing that Tiger knows how to keep things exciting. We continued the experience with a visit to the enlightening Arulmigu Balathandayuthapani Temple and incredible views of Penang and the monkeys !

Tiger didn't hold back - he kept it real with his thoughts on everything. His passion for Penang’s cuisine and and the way he shared his knowledge about the culture and history made the whole experience even better.

He knows all the secret spots to find the best of the best in Penang. We felt like we were in on all the delicious secrets and soaked up the local culture. Tiger was our guide and our friend, making sure we got the most out of every bite and moment. From our lunch to the forest picnic to finishing with a delicious Ramly Burger, Tiger made sure we savored every second. No doubt about it, Tiger made our food tour the highlight of our trip!”

Even though we have travelled to Penang numerous times over the years we learnt so much on this tour with the delightful Soraya.

As a Penang local and licenced Tour Guide, Soraya gave us great insights into Penang's fascinating history, multi-culture, architecture and best of all - food!

Over the course of the tour walking through George Town she fed us so much that we were bursting. Everything was delicious and her choices of meals to showcase Penang's diverse food culture were perfect.

Soraya was interesting and engaging and font of information about Penang. She showed us so many sights and points of interest, well beyond what we expected.

We had a great day and would not hesitate to recommend this tour.

This was truly an amazing journey with our guide Miss Pho. Pho was extremely knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about showing us different foods & the history of where certain dishes originated from. Pho answered all our questions that we were asking and it was lovely to sit and linger over our meals and chat about Penang, the food, life in Penang and the history.
    We certainly learned a lot.
I would not hesitate in recommending this tour and you’ll be extremely happy to have Miss Pho as your guide.
Don’t forget to start hungry and end up very very full!!

The foodie cultural tour with Su Li was an amazing cultural and gastronomic experience - a must do whilst in Penang! Su Li was very knowledgeable, accomodating and very attentive to our needs. Visiting with my 3 boys, we were educated through sight, smell, taste and of course some funny stories about the local area. Su Li's deep knowledge of the origins of the Penang settlement with her ability to tie it together with the vibrant food scene, made this experience an unforgettable one for my family.
My favourite treats were the pickled nutmeg & Nyonya Kuihs. Although we can't forget the experience of trying our hand at cooking our own Char Koay Teow and Apom Balik. The tour took us through the back streets and market lanes, walking through some historical architecture and seeing the changes of these through time. The smells of the curries and spices through the back lanes of the Nasi Kandar kitchen woke up our sense of smell and enticed our apatite.
Su Li's passionate enthusiasm of the UNESCO historical sites, organised and safe tour is a must do if you are in Penang. Thank you Su Li for a memorable experience!
