    Historical landmark
    65 stories high and visible to Butterworth on mainland Kompleks Tunku Abdul Razak, after the second Prime Minister of Malaysia is still a landmark. It used to be a labyrinth full of shops on several levels, now the prominent ones left are the Chinese trading in gold on the ground floor. Locals call the walkway connecting over the busy crossroads at the corner the Komtar Octopus.

    By the fountain
    The well proportioned yellow building by the lawn next to the white City Hall serves for various public purposes. The colourful fountain in the small park beside it was presented to the public of Penang in 1883.

    You can enter the courtyard lined with two storey wooden villas, some quite delapidated. Leaving your shoes outside and avoiding too revealing or tight clothing access to the mosque is also granted.
