A spot to get some interesting photos. Multiple rooms setup to make the photos appear as if you are standing on the ceilings or walls. Two to three staff members are waiting at each photo spot, they will direct you on where to stand and how to pose.

I always carry a real camera with me and I handed it over to the person who would be taking the photos in that location. This was a bit of a mistake, even though I set up the camera, at least one staff member started changing the settings.

If you also have a camera, do yourself a favor and just handover your phone to the staff and put your camera away, you will probably get better results in the end.

This is the birthplace for Malaysian multitalented singer, actor, director and film maker, the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee. Here, visitors will have the chance to enter the traditional Malay house where P. Ramlee was born and learn more about his family's history and background. There is also another gallery housed in a more modern-looking building that showcases some of his personal collections and photos. This attraction is open everyday with the exception of Mondays and it is completely free of admission.

Had a short stop at Bee Gallery Penang. Many wallpapers, different kinds of honey or Madu in Malay language. Good information from the seller with a chance to taste any and buy.

    Amazing journey, it was.

Penang was the focal point for pilgrim ships from Indonesia and Singapore back in the mid-1880s. At Penang, the pilgrims had to stay for months to wait for their ships to Mecca. And it took another two months to reach the holy land! This historical journey is well documented at Penang Hajj Gallery, Lebuh Acheh. It is a small gallery but educational; with informative leaflets and well written pilgrimage history. You can find old stuff belongs to the pilgrims such as luggage, boxes, hajj documentations, ihram clothing and a lot more. If you are a researcher, or you are interested about Islam or Hajj pilgrimage, this is a place for you to visit. Just a few meters away from the gallery, there is Lebuh Aceh mosque, the place where pilgrims congregated before departing to Mecca. Visit both places for better understanding about Penang as a pilgrims’ hub more than 100 years ago. Free entry.

I visited Glow Planet Penang last July 2024, and I have some mixed feelings about my experience.

The artwork was truly impressive. The 3D glow-in-the-dark effects were visually stunning and provided some great photo opportunities. My kids particularly loved the vibrant colors and creative designs.

The staff were friendly and tried their best to make our visit enjoyable. They were always ready to assist with taking photos and explaining the exhibits.

The air conditioning provided a nice break from the Penang heat, which made the visit more comfortable.

Despite being promoted as having educational attractions, I didn’t find much educational content. The exhibits were mostly visual with little information provided about the art or the science behind the glow-in-the-dark effects.

Overall, while Glow Planet Penang has some beautiful art and friendly staff, it needs more attractive features and extra efforts to enhance the experience. I’d recommend it if you’re really into glow-in-the-dark art, but otherwise, there might be better options for family outings in Penang.

Bicycle enthusiasts will marvel at the variety of bicycles available. There's some really early bicycles like the Penny Farthing on display. However it is only one room worth of exhibits and the displays are not exactly displayed in an exciting manner. Non-bicycle enthusiasts may not consider this visit essential.

Ms Annie Tan and her team are doing a great job in this little important museum. Wonderful exhibits with good descriptions. 2-3 helpful and interesting videos. Certainly worth seeing in my opinion.
