- DavidjellisLowestoft, UK9,477 contributionsMy wife and I visited on a cruise ship excursion and we had just under an hour here to enjoy the pretty surroundings. It's an easy walk and fairly flat. There are many interesting plants and trees to see, and our guide explained that the gardens were mainly known for its trees and plants, in contrast to botanical gardens elsewhere that focused on flowers.
There are wild macaque monkeys here...just don't go too near or wave any bags around as they will try to grab the bag on the premise there might be food inside. We loved the fascinating cannon ball trees, the cannon balls are really odd plants that apparently smell rotten on the inside. We could have easily spent longer here but we were on a tight timetable.
The gardens are located at Jalan Kebun Bunga and it is Malaysia’s only botanic gardens. There are many ferns and cactus houses too, including some rare species.
The Botanic Gardens is open every day from 5 a.m. until 8 p.m and there is parking available.Written 30 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There have mini market that you can buy the drink, food and snack at there but the price got a bit expensive compare at outside. The also got a big playgroud and swimming pool. But public holiday or weekend will be have a lot of people inside the swimming pool so not so suggest.Written 21 May 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - nellielimKuala Lumpur, Malaysia4,019 contributionsArmenian Park is a public park at the intersection of Acheen Street and Armenian Street. This open green space provides an oasis in the heart of the island's heritage zone. With green lawns, pedestrian walkways, benches and landscape gardens, it is a great place for activities or just to take a break while exploring the city.Written 20 April 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joanna NKuala Lumpur, Malaysia5 contributionsThis was a tough and challenging hike, meant for more experienced hikers. But the fantastic climb through deep forest and the spectacular views from the top of Penang Hill’s old Crag Hotel made it all worthwhile!
Going inside Crag Hotel made me feel as though I was stepping back in time to the colonial British days. So nostalgic!
Peter is an amazing guide who made us feel safe throughout, and his stories made the hike so interesting. I would do this hike all over again!Written 7 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
