- annemcc2019Adelaide, Australia9 contributionsOverwhelming and fabulous viewof Peranakan decorative arts. So much to see that repeat visits to this house museum are recommendedWritten 6 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KinkyheelsSingapore, Singapore9 contributionsLovely tour of the Blue Mansion. Beautifully maintained property and lots of spots for great pics. I want to thank one of the members of the Blue Mansion team, Selva, for pointing out the nice places to take photos and for taking some lovely pics of my cousin and me. Made our visit more memorable.Written 3 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Stanley_Wong1204Petaling Jaya, Malaysia354 contributionsPerhaps I came in the late afternoon, therefore not many tourists inside the destination. The location of this place needs to walk-in from the main street. Then you will encounter a ticket booth to sell ticket. After buying the ticket, you will get through the security guard and turn into the location of the temple-like building. That building is the center location of Khoo Kongsi. The ground floor is the exhibit and upper floor is a clan shrine.Written 31 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Heli PHelsinki, Finland6,316 contributionsParkson Grand is a high end department store occupying one corner of the biggest mall in Penang. Marks &Spencer has a smaller shop here too on the ground floor where main tenants are big international luxury brands. The upper levels hold all mobile phone companies and several smaller local businesses, mainly fashion. The food market in the basement is excellent and is surrounded by restaurants and take aways for all tastes.Written 12 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - catWoodend, Australia7 contributionsA fantastic and little-known highlight of Penang. Hidden away on the upper level of Komtar mall. We had a free tour guide who was expert and passionate. Great thing to do in the heat of the day. Plenty of interactive experiences and the chance to play some of the instruments and work the radio desk. Recommended for families and adults interested in the origins of modern music. Plenty of stories and history of how music played a big part in people’s lives up to the 1970’s. Amazing to see so much memorabilia collected and now preserved from so many people from the last 150 years and to hear that some, now in their 80’s continue to be involved and even perform.Written 10 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AhMeng78Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia469 contributionsThe figures and service of Wonderfood musuem are inpressive. The two level musuem is full of diffent large scale food figures and miniature life figures. Since I visited during weekdays , there is no problem taking photo with minimum crowd. Staffs are friendly and explain some of the details on those food figures history.
Entrance fee is rm 20 per adult. Worth paying for the price since the musuem is interesting.Written 9 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is worth visiting for that reason alone, even if you have little interest in Sun Yat Sen - though the historical detail on his time in Penang was also interesting.Written 22 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Heli PHelsinki, Finland6,316 contributionsIf something is missing from Plaza come here to find it. My favourite is the large Bookexcess store upstairs selling new publishers' cast out editions in English starting from 18 rm. Browsing the endless rows of books I have made acquintance with lots of new interesting authors. There is a supermarket also in this basement.Written 12 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Heli PHelsinki, Finland6,316 contributions65 stories high and visible to Butterworth on mainland Kompleks Tunku Abdul Razak, after the second Prime Minister of Malaysia is still a landmark. It used to be a labyrinth full of shops on several levels, now the prominent ones left are the Chinese trading in gold on the ground floor. Locals call the walkway connecting over the busy crossroads at the corner the Komtar Octopus.Written 14 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NoorAmirah@SEU338EPenang Island, Malaysia34 contributionsThe artwork pieces include sculptures and illusion paintings. All the pieces featured at the museum are locally made, which is one of the unique aspects that Penang 3D Trick Art Museum is proud to share. The price is affordable. The staff are very friendly and helpful.Written 16 June 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Heli PHelsinki, Finland6,316 contributionsMobile phone and accessories stores fill the ground floor of this older mall next to the bus depot at Komtar. Upstairs is an assortment of outlets selling inexpensive shoes and fashion. I had my hair trimmed and bought my favourite ankle socks that last forever at Sock Box, 5 pairs for 12 rm.Written 9 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
