Strongly suggest to visit this temple during Thaipusam as it will give immense experience about the festival and Hindu cultural experience.

Came to Penang a couple of times but never heard about this place before, so decided to give it a try. This is one of the Penang’s hidden gems. I was greeted by a lovely lady Elaine, my tour guide, who brought me back to the history of music in Penang. The whole tour took around 2 hours, but you will never feel the time passed, as they emphasize on engaging your senses. You are encourage to touch, feels and listen to the instruments. Had a blast here and hopefully more people can discover this place too. Please make an appointment at 012-416 1550 before drop by as they are following a strict SOP due to covid.

This a fascinating and beautiful house. It is worth visiting for that reason alone, even if you have little interest in Sun Yat Sen - though the historical detail on his time in Penang was also interesting.

Amazing and enriching experience !! SJ and Princilia gave us the best bike tour of rural Penang, where we learnt about the culture, food and nature. We got to experience the real day to day life of palm oil farmers and other locals. If ur looking for an authentic experience with kind people I highly recommend Matahari!!

Book and go, you will have a great time!! My wife and I had a private vegetarian cooking class with 3 mouthwatering dishes. We started at the local fresh-market and and got to taste different flavors of local banana's, pancakes and even tried the famous Durian fruit. The cooking class is nicely situated at the outside veranda of the house. The chef provided great tips, techniques and easily adjusts to any level of experience. We made a finger-licking veggy version of the Curry Kapitan (oh dear !), Char Chap Chy and Spicy Chilly Tofu (yum). Copies of the recipees allow us to re-experience all of this again when we're back home. An amazing positive way to experience the Malaysian cuisine and a lovely way to connect with the local community.

We shared a wonderful day in Penang with Jeremy. He's a hugely knowledgeable and passionate guide. We crammed a huge amount of food and history into the tour and came away really feeling like we had an insight into what makes Penang's culinary traditions so rich and varied. The highlight was a visit to Bibik's Kitchen where we met the wonderful owner, Girly. Highly recommended.

HP was fantastic, taking us around to various morning markets and food stalls to try the fantastic bounty of food and culture that exists in Penang. Especially loved being introduced to the Nnonya cuisine and various other special fruits and treats that are only available during the Chinese Lunar New Year! Highly recommend.

Our cooking class in Khakids home was so good. It was just me and my partner on the class which made it very personal. Khalid explained the foods we could cook and the history behind the dishes. Most importantly the food was delicious and we would recommend this class to anyone!
