We really enjoyed our day on the pontoon. Taken by boat ( pretty choppy!) in the morning, we stayed until 3.30. We tried sea walking - great experience and beautiful fish. Suitable for non swimmers as they take you down very slowly. We also snorkelled off the reef . They provide lunch and offer various other activities, scuba, banana boat, paraglide etc but there's no pressure to do anything. Make sure you see the massive giant Gruper which they rescued from a restaurant and keep it to show tourists how these fish grow in the wild and to encourage them not to order wild fish in the restaurants.

Thanks to Bas and the team for our family diving and snorkelling adventure. We had a great time. The instructors were engaging and the trip was well organised.

Everything was so smooth, from booking, airport pickup, climbing and transfer to city. The staff response quickly so I didn’t have to worry about the arrangement.

Mountain guide was nice and friendly. It was an amazing climbing experience.

Only good things to write - nothing to fault. We did the 3d2n kinabatangan river tour.
    - the staff are amazing - everyone was friendly and professional. The receptionist, the drivers, restaurant staff all so great.
    - the guides - shout out to Apok and Adam, knowledgeable, went above and beyond so we saw everything…. They managed to get us to places before the hoards of tourists we had 8 Pygmy elephants to ourselves for about 20-30mins before anyone else arrived. Apok was amazing with our young children on the night tour too - a big thanks!
    - everything ran on time and the activities timing was well paced, enough to be busy and enough to relax
    - the equipment: the boats are spotless and the only boats with high back seats, and single rows - no crowding everyone gets a view. They provide boots for muddy hikes as well
    - the group sizes are small
    - the hornbill lodge is luxury, clean and very modern - family room is fantastic!
    - everything is reasonably priced, given where you are they could charge anything but they are very fair
    - the food is top notch and plentiful

absolute value for money. One note, there’s heaps of stairs to rooms so if accessibly is an issue speak to them first.

Here's the funny thing: I never heard of Sticky Rice Travel until two months before our trip. But they had great references. So, relying on that, and Sticky Rice's communications to me, I sent $12,000 to the other side of the world to someone I had never met. And then everything that was promised was delivered, on time and with exceptional service. The Sticky Rice team could not have done a better job.

Highly recommend this company. Christian was so easy to communicate with and happy to cater to my needs.
I had an amazing day of cycling with both Christian and Flow. It was so good to be able to cycle through back roads, tracks and over bridges and that only locals know about. The day also included a visit to a market, temple and a friendly quaint cafe for a snack stop.
Thank you guys for an enjoyable and memorable experience

I did the 'walk the torque' via ferrata. It was great fun. I really think anyone that is modestly fit can handle it. In addition, if you are not afraid of heights yoo should consider the more advanced 'lows peak' via ferrata as I regret not doing that. 'Walk the Torque' is very much introductory. I was travelling solo but it was fine and I made some friends in my team.

Fantastic team. Lilly was very entertaining and took good care of and educated the more inexperienced people in our group. Had three excellent dives and saw sea horse, reef shark, snail and eagle raw. And lots of fish.

Not sure how anyone can give less than 5 stars for this experience. We did the 4D3N trip in Deramakot with Rajis and his trusted driver/ companion Mich and it was beyond our expectations.

Rajis is a one-man-encyclopedia of everything you need to know about Malaysia and Borneo, from zoology and botany (of course) to history, politics and geography. It is a pleasure to speak to him about any subject and to hear him share interesting facts about nature and history.

He went above and beyond in trying to find and show us wildlife in Deramakot, even though weather conditions were not necessarily ideal. Nonetheless we had the pleasure of seeing a mother Orangutan with her cute baby, flying squirrels, spiders, monitor lizards, eagles, hornbills, etc.

Being an avid watcher of Animal Planet and National Geographic documentaries as a kid it was a dream come true to actually experience those in real life.

We also met Con, the guide of another group during our trip who also seemed like a genuine cool and very knowledgeable guy.

I cannot recommend this company enough, do not hesitate to book your trips with them!

We came across Jonathan and his company after reading many positive reviews online and thank goodness we did. From the start of the booking process, all done very seamlessly via email and Whatsapp, right through to the final drop off, everything went swimmingly!

Jonathan was able to tailor a trip specific to our family needs and was a knowledgeable, safety-concious yet fun and charismatic guide. We thoroughly enjoyed his advice and great conversation, even over a lovely lunch. The crew working alongside him were terrific with our young children, aged 4 and 6 and catered specifically to their needs throughout the day, going out of their way to find good spots for them and great sea life.

Being on a private charter like this was so advantageous in being able to hit the good spots before they got busy and we enjoyed having the flexibility to adapt plans freely throughout the day.

We are already planning our next trip back and will not waste time researching again, we'll go straight to Jonathan. Thanks for a truly terrific experience!

The canopy walkway in Poring Kinabalu is a series of five suspended rope Bridges. You will get a good view of the jungle canopy and surrounding mountains. As you walk along the single plank the rope wobbles. It will take you about a half an hour to complete the course.

We went for the Kiulu river (Grade I-II) white water rafting, had a really good experience even though all of us were first time rafters. The guide Jeff and Lilo were very friendly and professional, the ride itself was quite relaxed for the most part as we ride with the river flow while rafting through a few rapids.

Lunch was included in the package, and it was cooked fresh at the beautiful Riverbug base camp at the end of the river. It was simple but delicious, and vegetarian options were available as well. Shower facilities available at the base camp.

Upon request, they have van transfer service available to and fro your place of stay and the rafting location (subjected to availability). You can drive yourself there as well, but the road condition is similar if not worse than the road to Kundasang.

Besides rafting, other activities such as camping, small flying fox across the river and back, etc are also available at the base camp, though we did not participate in them.
