This was a wonderful experience! Lucien picked us up from our hotel and we drove around an hour to the Bengoh Dam. From there we took a boat to the jetty where we started the hike to the waterfalls. The hike itself was very nice. Lucien stopped along the way to show us plants and explain their properties. The Jurassic waterfall was one of the prettiest we ever saw. After the hike, we had a short 20-min walk to the homestay. Mr Kuek and his family were extremely nice and warm to us. They made us delicious food from locally grown and sourced produce.
I would highly recommend this experience. Thank you Lucien😊

Highly recommend this tour - clear and entertaining stories that really bring the history and evolution of Kuching and some of the key characters to life. Jason Law our guide was superb. Recommend the option for car with some walking to get up close with regular respite from the heat.

We went on the “ Wetland Wildlife Cruise “ with Ooo Haa tours and travel , through our hotel .41/2 hours around the Santubong river mouth and the mangroves. 198 Rm , around £38 each and good value including pick up and return and a meal in the boat . Ben , our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Only 3 tourists in the boat , so it wasn’t crowded . We missed the dolphins and the crocs but did get great views of the Proboscis monkeys and fireflies .

We travelled less than an hour from the city on the Cultural Village Tour with an experienced local driver - it was one of the highlights of our trip to Kuching. We learned about the different tribes and longhouses for each, with welcome dancers and music each time we entered. There was cooking in some, handcraft exhibitions in some, and it is always interesting learning about how different cultures have lived. To finish off, the joint performance in the main hall from each of the longhouses was beautiful and brilliant, seated on very comfortable chairs with all the lights, music and entertainment of a world-class event. Definitely include the Sarawak Cultural Village on your agenda.

Excellent way to see the traditional houses without going into to jungle. Really authentic.
The cultural performance show was also great

We enjoyed this short visit to the longhouse that provided an interesting snapshot of both modern and traditional ways of life for this Bidayuh community at Annah Rais. The tour operator company was flexible and our guide was friendly. We appreciate this experience overall and are keen to learn more about other longhouses and tribes, and we hope our family and Kuching locals visit as well!
