What travellers are saying
- Leanda DTownsville49 contributionsAs a crazy cat lady as soon as I read about this I knew I had to go. Located on the lobby floor of the Kuching North City Hall about 10kms from the waterfront/city centre, I spent around 2 hours there. It is comprised of 4 galleries with over 4000 items dedicated to all things feline. The first gallery has several taxidermy specimens, these looked scruffy and tired (and were vaguely disturbing) but nonetheless it was good to see the various species of the area. The rest of the exhibition contained sculptures, artworks and even fashion dedicated to our feline friends. There is a cafeteria in the lobby selling hot food, drinks and snacks.Written 26 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Super interesting, and in an awesome fort (Fort Margerita) positioned over the river to repel pirates.
To get there from the Kuching waterfront, I tried and failed to walk from the Darul Hana bridge- but you can't walk past the parliament. Instead, take a little boat across the river, ad then it's a short (10 minute) walk up to the fortress.Written 25 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Suitable for children, the young and young at heart. My daughter(29) and I enjoyed ourselves so much. We had loads of cool pictures to share with family and friends.
The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly, they assisted us on how to pose for the best pictures. I had reservations at first but they were super helpful and immediately put us at ease. They attended to us throughout the 2 hrs we were there.
You'd be lucky to have the whole place to yourselves but even if there are other couples or groups, everyone would be having too much fun to feel shy. The best is, there is no time limit for the amount you pay, so go ahead, get clicking and enjoy youselves!Written 28 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Departure268552268321 contributionI’m all for history and all that has gone on before. On a hot day it was indeed pleasant to be at the old court house where this mini museum is located. Information provided by others is comprehensive. I enjoyed the visit with my family. The colonial high ceilinged building with timber tiles and inner courtyard gives it a cool environment. It made my day. Being a senior citizen a 50% discount on entry fee was given.Written 28 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John1 contributionOrdered a piece of furniture (a bench) from them to be dispatched internationally by sea. They carefully took my order and gave an estimated time of arrival. The package was expectedly late (its 2020 and coronavirus is everywhere), but when I got the package everything was in order and neatly packed. Not a scratch or anything in sight. Dont be afraid to shop with them!Written 11 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Nick BSouth Wales, UK183 contributionsif you are interested in textiles and ethnographic handicrafts there are some quietly stunning pieces in here. Plenty of info in English and well set out. Just a small exhibition. Count on about 45 minutes to see it. Free entry as are the other museums in town.Written 21 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Entry was 29r and seniors 25 r....probably the going rate for these places as we have done them inPenang and Ipoh in the past.
Save it for a wet day if you want to kill an hour....entry was up a flight of stairs so not for people with difficulties.Written 29 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
