Unless this stop is part of a bigger tour, otherwise there’s absolutely no need to book a tour operator for this. Simply take the 6am free Kuching Metro bus 103 from the city to the reserve, which takes 90min. There’s an app showing the bus times and -stops. You get a free city tour so what’s not to like. Then register using the QR code. Pay the fee (rm10 for foreigners). Unless you’re disabled, otherwise skip the shuttle bus in the reserve (rm5) and walk an easy 20min to the feeding platforms. It’s slightly uphill on the way there so the way back is even easier. Pro tips:

    - come early, before the official feeding time. This is not a zoo and the orangutans come and go as they like. I was 30min early at 8.30 and there were already three of them and a handful of tourists. More apes came later but also way more visitors.
    - May and June are good months to see the animals since its non-fruiting season. There’s less food available in the reserve so the apes are a lot more likely to show up for feedings.

Since I was early and saw all the apes there were to see and took all the pics and vids I wanted, I took the 10am bus back to the city and was home by noon. Excellent half day trip. I’d strongly recommend going in the morning to stay ahead of the heat

We were excited to visit Bako national park and it didn’t disappoint! This is a very unique and beautiful national park with diverse wildlife. You don’t have to venture far from the HQ to see the wildlife. There are several hiking trails around the park. Our only regret is not spending the night at Bako.

Beautiful setting and reconstructed longhouses but not all have staff to explain the nuances of the houses. There are placards with QR codes but I didn’t want to spend my battery so signs with text would have been much more preferred!! The 45-minute dance performance at the end was a highlight. Beautiful costumes and music. The ticket is quite expensive but slightly cheaper if bought online.

There is also a poor, whelping scruffy, medium terrier milling around. Please someone feed it!! And eventually spay. Shame on the site management for not caring for this poor pup.

Well worth a visit - at both nightime and in the day.

Feels very safe, no pressure re boat trips or restaurants.

Free light show at 8:30 and 9:30 nightly.

    Lots of photo opportunities

Shame about some of the rubbish in the river but they do try to clean it up.

    worth a visit.

As a crazy cat lady as soon as I read about this I knew I had to go. Located on the lobby floor of the Kuching North City Hall about 10kms from the waterfront/city centre, I spent around 2 hours there. It is comprised of 4 galleries with over 4000 items dedicated to all things feline. The first gallery has several taxidermy specimens, these looked scruffy and tired (and were vaguely disturbing) but nonetheless it was good to see the various species of the area. The rest of the exhibition contained sculptures, artworks and even fashion dedicated to our feline friends. There is a cafeteria in the lobby selling hot food, drinks and snacks.

I was visiting Kuching, Sarawak, MALAYSIA (Borneo Island) early in December 2023. And there was this tallest flag pole in the country recently constructed and completed. Ready for official opening in the eve of the New Year 2024. Wonderful scene. Great activities along the waterfront (Sarawak River). Lots of local foods and western foods as well. Must visit!

A good place for a jog especially in the early morning and late evening. Best place to take a walk at night time with friends and family.

We found this place by accident, we crossed the "bridge to nowhere " expecting to be able to see/visit some of the sites on the other side of the river we found everything locked up apart from this place if you like plants and flowers it is well worth a walk over the bridge.

This is a nice stretch of street to walk about, buy some local stuff and great food. Parking can be a challenge and crowded during peak hours.

Being very interested in wildlife of all description we opted to visit the Wetlands Park once early morning and then in the evening.
Both trips were enjoyable and interesting for different reasons,
in the morning we saw the Irrawady snub nosed dolphins and a
wonderful specimen of crocodile and in the eveing we were once againl lucky enough to see the dolphins and the proboscis
    monkeys. Highly enjoyable

For me, getting to the longhouse was the best part. Myself and a fellow traveller hired a driver/guide to do a day tour including Semenggoh Nature Reserve and two long houses. Annah Rais was interesting to see, people seemed friendly considering the volume of tourists they must normally see (tourism way down because of COVID, few weeks before lockdown). The drive to Annah Rais was beautiful, the highlight of the day. We made many stops to explore and take photos along the way.

If you are looking to have loads of fun, this is the right place to stop by. Suitable for children, the young and young at heart. My daughter(29) and I enjoyed ourselves so much. We had loads of cool pictures to share with family and friends.

The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly, they assisted us on how to pose for the best pictures. I had reservations at first but they were super helpful and immediately put us at ease. They attended to us throughout the 2 hrs we were there.

You'd be lucky to have the whole place to yourselves but even if there are other couples or groups, everyone would be having too much fun to feel shy. The best is, there is no time limit for the amount you pay, so go ahead, get clicking and enjoy youselves!

This place is architecturally pleasing. There is a decent small museum and places to eat and drink. This is opposite the waterfront.
