What travellers are saying
- Eugene KPetaling Jaya, Malaysia199 contributionsA worthwhile visit if you're in Kuching. Just about half an hour from the city center, this Orang Utan sanctuary does offer quite a bit of other activities besides the Orang Utan's themselves. They are free to roam about so catching a glimpse of them is not guaranteed -- especially during the fruiting months after the rainy season.
As it is a sanctuary, visits are limited to two slots a day and actually, all you need is around 2-2.5hours including travel time. When there are more attractions on the walk-in, perhaps you can consider spending an extra hour.Written 6 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are plenty of trails. If you're going with children, pick the ones that end at a beach. Recently, plenty of crocodiles have been spotted probably due to human activity so they do advise against swimming in the sea but the beaches are nice enough.
Hike to the sea stacks or pay the boat driver a bit more to motor over.
If you have 3-4 in your group, consider chartering your own boat to give you flexibility. We did that, spotting a small pod of Irrawaddy dolphins including a calf on our way to the sea stacks. We also made a one-way hike. Take down the driver's mobile number and give him a call about which beach to pick you up. Do tell him beforehand.
In the two-hour hike we were on, we managed to catch plenty of local flora and fauna, including the famed proboscis monkey, silver-leaf monkey, and more.Written 6 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Entrance fee for non-Sarawakians is RM85 while fee for Sarawakians is RM30.
Highlight is the cultural show featuring traditional dancers. Make sure you don't miss it!
It's interesting to see the native longhouse replicas.
Iban longhouse - Most common type of longhouse that exist today in interior Sarawak.
Bidayuh barok - Large round hut with a central fireplace. My favorite type of longhouse.
Orang Ulu longhouse - Longhouse on tall stilts.
Melanau tall house - This house is even taller than the Orang Ulu longhouse. Gigantic house sitting on tree trunks. Marvellous piece of engineering.
Penan hut - Small house.
Come in the morning as it tends to rain during evenings in Kuching.Written 7 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - SycGeorge Town, Malaysia17 contributionsNice view.

- 49karenlSudbury, UK143 contributionsBeing very interested in wildlife of all description we opted to visit the Wetlands Park once early morning and then in the evening.
Both trips were enjoyable and interesting for different reasons,
in the morning we saw the Irrawady snub nosed dolphins and a
wonderful specimen of crocodile and in the eveing we were once againl lucky enough to see the dolphins and the proboscis
monkeys. Highly enjoyableWritten 11 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was good though to learn about the history of the name of ‘Kuching’, and it was also exciting to see information on Manx Cats being mentioned. It was fun reminiscing about famous cats, I.e ones in films etc. Entry is cheap and can spend at least half an hour here.Written 25 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Eugene KPetaling Jaya, Malaysia199 contributionsA really great place to hang out and to enjoy the scenery. The waterfront and the bridge is nice but so is the light and music show at 8:30pm.
There are plenty of vendors and stalls along the waterfront.
There is also an ice-cream stall IG Gula Apong Ais Krim which uses the sugar of the Nipah palm that results in a rich, aromatic kind of sugar that is really unique.
There is a river cruise as well which just adds to the excitement of the whole area.Written 7 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - franklydavidMiri, Malaysia30 contributionsEasy to get to being to only a 30 minute walk from the Waterfront and situated in a nice suburban area Jalan Song, the park is tidy compact and well organized. Two parts to the park , one the introduction to the other states in Malaysia and the other Chinese Tea Pavilion, and zig zag bridge overlooking the large pond. The pond is full of huge Koi Carp and other colorful fish. Around the park is a walk way /jogging track.Written 5 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- franklydavidMiri, Malaysia30 contributionsGetting a free bus to the beach in Kuching was most welcome, at the moment a free hydrogen bus is being trialed so hop on and enjoy the trip even free wi-fi, takes an hour from the Waterfront going past the cat museum on it's way. Though take note no stops on the way or return. There are numerous snack bars and even a karaoke when you arrive at central. This is the venue also of the Cultural village and Rain forest festival. Beautiful scenary and friendly locals, can't be bad hey :)Written 10 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NoorSingapore, Singapore11 contributionsIt's not difficult to locate this gem. We did something different for vacation. Water play and relaxing in the hot springs. It was abit slippery when we were in the water and needed alot of strength to balance ourselves. Just be extra careful.Written 14 May 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
