These falls are an absolute do-no-miss attraction. It’s hard to comprehend how huge and widespread these falls are. I’ve been to Niagara Falls, Iceland’s Falls, and Victoria Falls…they all fail in comparison to these falls. It’s worthwhile to visit both sides of the falls, Brazil & Argentina. Don’t forget your passport. I liked the Brazilian side a little better, but be sure to do both sides.

Iguassu has been at the very top of my bucket list for 20+ years. I've visited Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, Niagara in USA and countless other wonders, but the draw to Iguassu has been intense for a very long time. I finally managed to arrange a trip, my bestie wanted to come with me, and I needed to get this experience right.

Fortunately I came across Iguassu Private Tours and their amazing reviews drew me in right away. Yes, they live up to their 5 star rating.and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I contacted them via Whatsapp and we talked about our needs. I wanted to spend a day on each side of the falls and do a boat ride (we opted for the less scary Brazilian side). The tour wasn't cheap, but we had top notch service.

Our wonderful guide Fabio showed up to pick us up from our hotel early. He spoke excellent English and was warm and friendly from the get-go. He escorted us across the border to Brazil and walked us to the falls view points. He gave us plenty of time to get photos and had lots of local knowledge. In the afternoon, we headed out for the boat ride, which was exhilarating and so much fun. By the end of day one, my jaw hurt from smiling. I also want to add that I had a small visa issue and Fabio patiently and kindly helped me get it sorted at the border.

On day two, we started really early with a 07:30 pickup. We were at the gate by 8 when it opened and Fabio led us down the trails to get up close to the falls. Another absolutely magical day was spent getting our photos and learning about the area. We were actually leaving when the main throngs of tourists were arriving, and we were both so thankful to have had the opportunity to explore this magnificent world heritage site almost exclusively!

For the record, I purchased the park passes for both sides in advance which worked in our favour when we arrived for day two - the system was down and the park was unable to sell tickets when we arrived. We were able to walk in and had the views to ourselves for at least the first hour!!

My thanks to Fabio and Iguassu Private Tours for making this trip to very special. I have no hesitation in recommending their services to all and wish to pass on my thanks for helping me fulfill my dream in such a spectacular way.

You can book online, which I thought about doing, but didn’t want to commit such a large amount of money if travel plans/weather changed.

Prices are the same to pay in person on the day - Rs$610 (about £100) pp. You can pay in Real or by credit card, also USD but the rate was quite unfavourable. The ice lollies sold in the attached cafe were unbelievably expensive - we paid ARG$17,000 for four simple lollies (over £10 UK but worth half that).

Real or credit card seemed the best way to pay for this truly magical trip of a lifetime.

Sydnei was great with the details of our tour He arrives on time and helped us arrive at the national park right when it opened He had some chilled water bottles waiting for us. Sydnei helped us add on a helicopter ride. He is very knowledgeable and his car was comfortable to ride in.

One of the best tours we have ever experienced. Cris first took us on a tour of the Argentinian side of the falls then we went to the Brazil side. Had lunch there and then toured the Brazilian side of the falls. Finished with a boat tour. Everything was amazing and Cris was so informative and helpful and made the day very easy. She then took us back to our hotel. What a great day and thank you Cris for making the experience truly memorable. We highly recommend Cris Tour!!!

Nilsa and her team were a great choice as our private guides for our 2 days in Iguassu. We wanted to see both the Argentina and Brazil sides and are glad we saw both as the viewpoints are different. Nilsa was easy to communicate with and she was very responsiveness in planning our two days, including pick up and drop off at the airport.

Adriano (her husband) was our guide for both days. He knew both Parks well and we crossed the border with ease. It was raining on the first day Brazil side, so per his suggestion we waited for the rain to subside before taking the boat ride under the falls. A fun experience and you will get soaked even with waterproof gear . It's $$$ for the short ride. Adriano knew all the trails well, was patient with us as we took many photos and he helped take photos of us too. The 2nd day we headed out early to trek the Argentina side and Adriano also took us to the lookout point where Argentina/Brazil/Paraguay meet. He stayed with us as we shopped and ate and then kindly dropped us off at the airport.

Thank you Nilsa and Adriano for your services to see the beautiful Iguassu,

I did the tour with Bruno and he was an awesome guide! He treated us more like friends than paying customers. I also appreciated how much knowledge he had of the area. I felt like I learned a lot from him. In all it was a memorable day and I was so happy I booked this tour.

The sense of fun started building as soon as you sat in the boat - when you see the operators wrapping up in rainproof gear, you knew it was gonna get wet wet wet... and it did not disappoint...

Amazing day trip from Buenos Aires! We worked with Edir Luiz from IPT tours ahead of our trip to help us coordinate details. The day of, our tour guide Marcos met us at the airport and gave us an excellent tour. He worked our route so we had great views without a bunch of people in the 1st half. Definitely opt for the boat ride under the falls! It was just my boyfriend and I and it was perfect. I’m so glad we did this tour instead of being in a large group on a big tour bus!
