- Daniel C1 contributionThe beach is really nice and clean, also the warm waters make for a really memorable place. The sunrises and sunsets are absolutely stunningWritten 22 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- jorge cBuenos Aires, Argentina19,719 contributionsAfter enjoying Maracaipe beach in the afternoon we walked about 1 km by the beach to find us a nice spot by the river in Pontal, you basically go around.
At sunset it's really amazing, one of the best of the entire trip.
We swam by the river and then saw the sunset.
We walked back to Maracaipe with the moon.
Total paradiseWritten 22 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Nevertheless, it's still worth doing a visit if you are around. However, to make the most out of it, you need to do some planning.
Check the tide chart for Porto de Galinhas and go there during low tide. Actually, arrive roughly 1 hour before the lowest point of the tide so that you can book your ticket for the rafts and reach it by the time the tide gets the lowest. Try to do it during weekdays as weekends can get busy (even during low season in July).
Probably the safest is to buy your ticket in the official booth, which is a small blue "box" right where the promenade ends (near the big "Porto de Galinhas" sign). You can take your stuff in a bag and leave it on the raft, it won't get too wet. The guy "driving" the raft gave us goggles, but you can also bring your own. You need to walk on the rocks/reef for a short time. Flip-flops are okay, but if you have underwater shoes that's even better.Written 1 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Many barracks, kiosks, and tours are located here.
Great for families, friends and groups, not so much if you are looking for a quiet spot (in that case you have to walk 500 mts either north or south).Written 20 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Some areas have infrastructure while some other parts are more desert and quieter.
Bear in mind that the water is a bit dangerous with the high tide, wavy ideal for surfing (not to much for swimming)Written 22 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are some barrack in some parts but you can be on your own as well with nobody surrounding you.Written 22 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You can see Santo Aleixo island from the shore (it's actually the closest point).
At the tip of the beach you have the famous Serrambi Resort (one of the first all inclusive in the region)
There are boat excursions to Maragogi and Aleixo right by the beach for those interested (100 Rs per person)Written 22 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. In a very poetic way he explained about the "birth of the Chicken", and how he had the idea to carve from the trunk of coconut trees all the theme chickens you can find all over "Porto de Galinhas" town. His art has a very strong eco-sustainability message, as he uses all kinds of materials saved from the trash. If you ever visit "Porto de Galinhas" please visit his workshop.Written 27 May 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jorge cBuenos Aires, Argentina19,719 contributionsIt's a mixed beach with the fresh water mixing up with the sea water (the color of the water might not be appealing at all, but it's still nice.
You can see Port of Suape from the shore and the big ships along the sea.Written 22 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They work around the clock to monitor and help all the female turtles which wash up on the beach to lay their eggs. If you ever visit Porto de Galinhas please stop by Eco and support this Project.Written 27 May 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
