There was a lot of volcanic activity in this area and one of the byproducts was quartz crystals concentrated at crystal mountain. We visited crystal mountain as part of an overall western desert tour. Because I like rocks it was worth it for me to visit. You go from one outcrop to another and poke around finding nice crystal fragments. 45 minutes is al the timel you need to see this .

We spent an amazing 4 days in the desert with Loly and his colleague Mohamed "Friday"! Firstly, the Black and White Deserts are natural wonders, and you haven't truly seen Egypt until you've been there and slept under the stars. With Egypt Western Desert Tours, our experience was safe, comfortable, and a real highlight of our trip through Egypt. Our desert tour started in Cairo, went through the desert, via Dakhla oasis, and finally ended in Luxor. My children will tell you that the food was delicious, sand dunes are epic fun, and it was so neat to see Friday's friends the desert foxes up close! We really felt like we were exploring off the beaten path. We enjoyed being the only tourists in the old Islamic city in Dakhla, and everyone we met was incredibly nice and friendly. If you are planning to visit Egypt, I highly recommend you contact Loly Gamal!

Wonderful trip. We saw bright spots in the desert: stones that resembled a hare, mushrooms, an upside-down foot and, of course, we enjoyed great panoramas. We traveled in comfortable cars, slept in a tent camp, which the guides set up for us, ate a delicious dinner they prepared in the desert. Saw the brightest sky full of stars at night. It’s great that the guides always monitored the cleanliness and did not leave a single package in the desert, taking the garbage with them. Thanks to it, we can enjoy untouched nature as it is.

We booked a 6-day tour of the Western Desert and the experience we had exceeded our expectations in every respect — the varied desert scenery, the detailed geology, the skilled Land Cruiser driver and excellent cook. Our adventure began with a pickup in Cairo in a comfortable Kiq sedan, and a drive to meet our ‘desert crew’ and transfer to a Land Cruiser on the edge of the Fayoum. After a short desert crossing to see the Valley of the Whales (amazing fossils) we drove to Bahariya. The real adventure began from there - three whole days and nights of off-road driving across the white, black and sandy desert-types of Egypt’s Sahara. Our driver Badrmani proved to be a brilliant driver!! At first it’s a little scary to be speeding across the sands (necessary to prevent getting stuck), but you soon get accustomed to the method and trust completely in Badrmani’s skills and extensive experience. The initial steep descents of dunes, done at right angles, are terrifying at first, but again, that’s the ways it’s done and is necessary and Badrmani knows how to do it — perfectly. An awesome driver! His English is good too, and he made a particular effort to show us geological details along the way, all kinds of earthly delights! Our cook, Moustafa, is a wizard. Wow, his soups, salads, stews are fresh and delicious, better than most hotels, honestly!! And the roast duck, chicken and casseroled beef were so tender and perfect on the rice. This tour with these people with this company is now in the top handful of our Egypt experiences — and I’ve spent more than 6 months in total in Egypt since 1980. I’ve travelled the country far and wide, from north to south, from Alex to Abu Simbel, and now from east to west, from St Katherine’s monastery in Sinai to the Western Desert with Western Desrt Tours! PS: throughout, my communications with Khaled was smooth, straightforward and simple - a highly recommended adventure!

Mohamed was very kind and helpful during the entire excursion. With him we visited the main points of interest between the Black and White Desert and spent a night in a tent in the White Desert.

What an unforgettable experience! I woke up feeling as though I had been transported to another planet—so peaceful and serene, with absolute quiet all around. The only thing that grounded us back to reality was the driver’s voice calling out that breakfast was ready. If you’re ever in Egypt and looking for an extraordinary adventure, I highly recommend it.

Visited the Black Desert, Crystal Mountain, Agabat Valley, and the Old and New White Desert. We’re amazed by the surreal scenery and the variety of landscapes in the area. Stargazing at night was incredible.

And Mohammed is the best tour guide, chef and photographer all in one. He grew up in this area, was passionate about his work, and spoke excellent English. He made a great dinner right in the middle of the desert, which was one of the best food I’ve had in Egypt! He helped us to take so many amazing pictures too. Ahmed, the driver who drove us from and back to Cairo, was professional and friendly as well.

It’s a 4 to 5-hour drive from Cairo to the staring point of the tour, but in the end I think it’s all worth it. Don’t miss it if you’re coming to Egypt!

We went to the desert for a three nights trip over the New Year's. It was perhaps the best thing that happened to us in 2024. Before the trip we were in touch with the agency that replied almost instantly to our questions. Mohammed, our guide, was amazing with organising the whole expedition in the smoothest way possible. It's a weird thing to say about a trip to a desert, but the food was delicious, and tea brewed over the fire tasted much better there. Of course, the outlandish views and the magnificent night sky were the highlights of the trip that we will never forget.

We spent two days with Alaa and Ambre in the deserts. They are incredible people who taught us a lot about the deserts and the region. We were treated like kings throughout the stay! We also had a great time sharing around the fire in the evening. Thank you very much for this unforgettable experience!

Muhammad's organisation is excellent: he was able to prepare a trip for us with incredible speed and fluidity.
We spent 3 days and 2 nights - one in a large n well-equipped tent in the desert, and the other in an hotel where the room had a balcony with a breathtaking view over a forest of palm trees as far as the eye could see!

Regarding the trip in the deserts itself, it followed well-known routes where we came across other cars, but I suppose the timeline was too short to consider venturing off the beaten track. Yet, we experiment incredible, diversified and magical landscapes

The food was excellent, thanks to Ahmed, an English speaking guide who is a discreet person and went out of his way to ensure our experience.
We were allowed to stay longer at sites so we could get a feel for the place, rather than just taking a photo and going.

It’s not the cheapest way yet it’s so comfy, you feel in good hands!

I had an absolutely incredible experience at the White Desert! Prepare to be amazed by the stunning landscapes and the chance to connect with nature in ways you never expected. Osama and the tour guides truly take care of everything, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in this wonderful adventure. You can genuinely feel the passion they have for this trip. The food was also outstanding, truly on another level! Highly recommend this unforgettable journey!

We were hesitant to book but put faith in humanity, and the results were phenomenal memories of Egypt. The website spelled out exactly the itinerary, and what we saw was beyond our expectations. Islam kept communication clear and responded quickly to our questions. We were not sure about camping out in the open air in January, but warm wool sleeping bags, blankets, and tents kept us very comfortable in the tent. Waking up to the sunrise at the White Desert and seeing the sun rays lit the landscape slowly was simply breathtaking. So do put on the alarm, do not miss this! Henni and Moustafa cooked delicious meals for us using homegrown ingredients. The table they set for dinner, the campfire, and conversation exchanges, all made for a wonderful experience. Thank you for an amazing outing, gentlemen.

10/10 would recomment, an excellent experience. The peace and quiet is out of this world! There are plenty of stops to view the scenery and have a break. You might even get to drive a bit yourself! If the moon wouldn’t shown i bet the sky would have looked even more amazing!

The experience of going to the Sahara with White Desert Home and Hany was surely one of the best experiences we've had in our trip to Egypt.
Me and my wife stayed in Egypt for 15 days. We've been to Cairo, Alexandria, Saqqara, Aswan, Luxor, Abu Simbel. The 2-day tour to the White Desert was the last thing we did and it was unforgettable.
The nature there is so beautiful it is hard to describe.
Hany and his team were friendly and reliable. Everything happened exactly like it was scheduled. The food was awesome! Not only the lunch we had at Bahariva Oasis but also the dinner at the campsite, which was the best chicken we had in Egypt.
The price was also very good!
    Definetely reccomended!
