If you enjoy people watching and variety of dining options, Long Beach is the place to go. You can find everything from lower-end to the more premium meals—though they are mostly either of Malay, Thai, Western or seafood varieties. The vibrant beach environment is great and it especially bustles at night with party music. There are multiple fire shows at night happening in different places between 7.30-8.30pm on the northern part of the beach. But the main highlight is the one happening around 10pm or 11pm at Black Tip Beach Bar (check the exact time with the bar).

It's a good short, but steep hike up rewarded with a breathtaking view. Wished they fixed the jetty so more people can go down and explore. A portion of the jetty is cordoned off by barb wires, but some people attempt to climb down the missing stairs. However, you can already take a good photo even just at the top part of the stairs.

The start of the hike is from the long beach, there is a signage near the campsite that points you to the start of the hike at the back of the camp site. The start of the hike is a bit steep, then after a few hundred meters, it will be an easy climb as the path is smooth. A few meters from the tower, you will find the two windmills cordoned by wire so you can't really touch the windmills. Follow the path around the windmills and you will see the stairs going to the Jetty. Enjoy!

Bring your own water and some mosquito repellant.

My partner & I could not ignore the beautiful floating white mosque which was on Perhentian Kecil Island. Hence, a day before checking-out & after our hiking adventure, we decided to pay a visit to the island. We took a water taxi across from Perhentian Besar Island & was charged RM15 per person.

The floating mosque was called “Ar-Rahman Mosque.” The late Dr Rahman saw that there was a need for a new mosque to be built in his hometown of Pulau Perhentian Kecil as the old one could no longer cater to the island’s growing population. Moreover, the island was one of the more popular island resorts in Malaysia known to both local & international tourists. Dr Rahman’s proposal to the then Chief Minister was approved as it would augur well with the tourism industry & construction began in 2011.

The cost of the floating mosque came to a whopping RM13.5 million. Part of its structure was built in the water to reduce the usage of land area, making it look like a floating mosque. This architectural design would certainly add to its uniqueness, drawing much attention & crowd from tourists. Also, the mosque would be equipped with the relevant facilities for the comfort of its Muslim worshippers.

When we arrived at the mosque, the 1st thing that we saw was its single minaret. The structure was built in the water. We also had the opportunity to see one of the prayer halls which was in an open area. Its tiled floor had an Islamic motif. There was also a kitchen with workers. We had to go through the kitchen in order to sit at a staircase leading to the open sea.

We were happy to witness that the mosque was widely used by the community. Dr Rahman would have been very proud to know that his legacy had brought much joy & benefit to the islanders.

Really good experience. We were lucky to be diving in small group (3 people max plus 2 guides, Aniq and Edwin) and we enjoyed the experience a lot. The briefings were very well structured and clear and under water the guides were very careful and checking on us all the time. We haven’t taken any course, as we are already certified. I did quite a challenging dive with an instructor (Nurul) and she was a very good guide and dive buddy under water. Our impression is that safety under water is a priority for them, also when there are experienced divers in the group. The dive sites are very cool and the mood outside and inside the water is very relaxed and pleasant.
Should we be back to Perenthians, we would for sure dive with Turtlebay again.

I did the open water diver with anti gravity diver and my experience was wonderful from first contact all the way through the course. My instructor was Sue, she made learning diving fun and exciting so it was super enjoyable to finally learn to dive. They are quite flexible in scheduling the courses in case of delays or other things!

Fantastic dive centre right in the midst of Long Beach, Perhentian Kecil. The staff were great, knowledgable and fun. My daughter did a few discovery dives and loved it. Saw turtles, sharks, rays, eels, sea snake, and so many fish and coral. Have been diving for twenty years and Temple of the Sea was one of the best dives ever.
    Would thoroughly recommend Panrama.

Obtained my OW & AOW with Aslam & Nicole way back in year 2017 when they were an instructor. And now they have opened their own beautiful DC known as Lekker Divers.

I took the opportunity to dive with them again in this year as I know their professionalism & safety precautions.

As a result, it turned out as an amazing dive experience. We were welcomed by their friendly staffs, outstanding services on the land & underwater, an honest, helpful & knowledgeable staffs.

It happened to be that I lost my DiveComp in Lekker area. Thank god it was found by their staff by the name of Captain Ijat & returned it to me on the next day before my morning dive. Aslam & Nicole should be proud of having an honest staff like him.

Overall, Lekker Divers is a trusted & professional DC to choose from for you out there. And believe me you’ll enjoy your stay & dive experience with lots of funs.

    Bedankt Lekker Divers!!! 🤙🏼

Having researched environmentally aware dive schools in the Perhentian Islands we found Sea Voice. As we will be bringing teams of students through our Turtle conservation expeditions, they really needed to be checked out first. From the outset Sharifah (owner manager) couldn’t have been more helpful. This was backed up during our stay on the Island. Sea Voice is a professionally run dive school staffed by the most amazing people. They could not have been more friendly, more helpful, and they obviously have a love for what they do and the environment in which they work. In my experience, having worked at and dived with other PADI outfits around the world so far Sea Voice Divers come out top.

This was the highlight of my trip to Malaysia in March. My daughter and I signed up for a dive and it has to be said we were both pretty nervous as it was our first time scuba diving. We were somewhat put at ease with the detailed instruction we received before we went onto the boat, the equipment seemed first class and everyone was very relaxed.

Once in the water our instructor Alif was amazing, so patient and encouraging as I was very anxious. During the dive he never left my side and ensured that my daughter was looked after by another instructor so it was 1:1 the whole time for both of us.
The coral and the fish were amazing and so blown away by the experience I asked if we could do another dive straight away which we did, so in total dived to a depth of 12m and spent over one and half hours diving.

Alif is a first rate instructor and I cannot thank him enough for how safe he made us both feel, enabling us to experience a whole new world underwater.

Spice Diver is the ultimate choice! If you're seeking a small-scale diving club with attentive instructors who take the time to understand your needs and desires, then Spice Diver is the place to go! I completed my advanced open water certification in fantastic conditions; it exceeded all my expectations! Huge thanks to Musky, Gérard, and Muhammad for this extraordinary experience! I can't wait for the opportunity to dive with you again 😍

I did the Wave 1 course with Howie and it was such a wonderful experience- one that I will treasure for a long time yet. I couldn't have imagine a more perfect introduction to the world of freediving.

Howie is a wonderful instructor; kind, patient, and clearly passionate about freediving, the sea and the healing nature of being in the water - it's infectious. The way he guides you gently to stay curious and test your limits, without pushing it too much is truly special. I already can't wait for my next freediving experience.

The beautifully clear and warm waters of Perhentian islands obviously helps add to the magic of it all too!

Thank you so much Howie and AndRasa ♡

We stayed here for 4 nights. Our Room was right at the diving centre and we were lucky to have a great view at the ocean that we could wake up to everyday. The room itself was very basic with a bed and a fan. The accomodation had shared bathrooms which wasn‘t a problem for us. The staff was very kind and it felt like a little community. Staying at the OhLaLa was by far the cheapest option to stay at the Long Beach and if you don‘t want to go out to eat you could also cook there, which was included in the price.
All in all we were more than happy having picked this accomodation for our stay at the Long Beach.

It was my first travel in two years since Covid and I am glad my husband had made a good choice in choosing Angel Diver for our 5-day trip to the Perhentian Island.

We are travelling with a group of friends, who took the open water course with Instructor Dailos. The group was a bit anxious at first as some of them were not very good at swimming but Dailos definitely did a good job and taught them all the skills and techniques while maintaining the good fun!

My husband and I did fun dives with Dailos, Ana and Ylenie who were all very experienced instructors and knew the dive sites very well. The dive requirements were well mantained and the dive shop was well organised.

I would highly recommend Angel Diver to anyone who wants to explore the underwater world.

**However**, since we were travelling during the end of Ramadan and the start of Hari Raya and the island is mainly operated by local Malay, most of the restaurants were closed in the morning, so no breakfasts were served. Eventually, when the restaurants were opened, they were overloaded with orders ( at one dinner it took us 3 hours to have our food on the table since we placed the order). So you might want to check with the local traditions and bring some foods yourself just in case.
