What travellers are saying
- Rick H1 contributionThe Grand Hotel is a beautiful property with lots of old time charm. All the staff were very friendly and accomodating. A good selection of restaurants on site and several within a short drive. Plenty for small kids to do outside, weather permitting of course. Views over the bay at sunset (since you're facing west) are breathtaking! Downtown Fairhope is a short drive or a decent bicycle ride away and is a cool walkabout for shopping and dining. Plenty of sites to see, bike paths, restaurants, etc. make for a good, relaxing getaway. The only negative at The Grand is parking! Unless you valet (for $32 a night +tip) you could drive around for 15 minutes or more waiting for a spot to open up.Written 31 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GolfUMKAuburn, AL356 contributionsPlayed both courses Dogwood and Azalea. Both are in great shape, RTJ’s great quality standards like. Dogwood has more water hazards involved, Azalea seems to be more forgiving. Greens are fast. Friendliness of the staff in the proshop is outstanding. Will come back when traveling to Point Clear next time.Written 18 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jay BFairhope, AL1,050 contributionsMullet Point Park is one of the best kept secrets of the entire Eastern Shore area. As a local, I have been there several times. The park is small but well maintained, with a rather nice green space facing Mobile Bay. There are many picnic tables, some under a covered pavilion. The boat ramp and launch is open 24/7. There is a short pier for fishing or net-casting, but be sure you have an Alabama salt water fishing license. The scenery is simply gorgeous and the site is very peaceful and quiet, even during high season. Note that there are no public restrooms other than some port-olets.Written 23 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 1GiantsMSRedwood City, CA1,217 contributionsA visit to this Victorian home gives a real view of life as the world turned into the 1900's. Family portraits and original pieces of furniture maintain the sense that you have walked back in time. Grounds are beautiful and other businesses are also nearby. Easy to get to by car or walking and or biking from the Grand Hotel.Written 7 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HatzlachaVirginia909 contributionsIf you're anywhere near Fairhope, it's well worth making the side trip to visit. It's a small family operation, so don't expect a tourist trap or corporate operation. Amazing amount of selection, keeping that in mind. Loved their chocolate caramels but the fudge seemed a bit dry. Service was friendly and prices were fair. Lots of nostalgia to see in the nearby hallways.Written 5 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
