I recently had the best rafting experience of my life on the Pacuare River! It's easily in the top 5 spots for white water rafting in India. The photos they took were incredible, better than HD quality šŸ˜‰. Even when we hit class 4 rapids, their instructions at the start made everything smooth sailing with no issues.

Their treatment of us was exceptional ā€“ delicious food and expert guidance for first-time rafters like myself. I highly recommend going with them for the best rates in Costa Rica!

The river was amazing. There were rapids around every corner probably 18 different rapids, and it was always full of excitement. There were some canyons with Stillwater where we could take pictures and the food was great. The guides were very personable, and we highly recommend this tripā€¦ It is, however a long day if you do the whole thing in one day with the shuttle buses from San Jose area.

Zip lining, repelling waterfalls, and daring to cross a swinging bridge are experiences I will always remember. The guides ensured we were safe and that we had a blast! The views were unbelievable- we even saw a sloth!

A big highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. The house is beautiful, the grounds are like the garden of Eden. The staff was so unbelievably pleasant and kind that it felt like you were staying with family. We did the 4-hour horseback tour and our guides, Andrew and Christian, were extremely knowledgeable and just an overall great hang. The views were stunningā€” it felt like a tour of paradise, including the scenic waterfall we detoured. Only regret was not staying long enough and as soon as we got in the car to leave we felt sad to depart. Canā€™t praise Aquiares enoughā€”will definitely return here for an even longer stay.

An amazing tour where you learn a lot about coffee.

The guide Andrew is very passionate and enthusiastic. He guided us through the complete process and told us so many thing, you think differently next time you drink coffee. Now coffee tastes so much better then before.

Overall a very good experience and worth while to have this experience as part of your vacation to Costa Rica

Great white water tubing trip. Our Guides Johnathan and his assistant were excellent helping us through the shallow areas and setting us for tubing down some nice shoots. Great lunch at the end of the trip. Highly recommend. Hope to come back for a white water raft trip.

Rafting on the lower section of the Rio Pacuare with Tico's River Adventure was the cherry on top of our already amazing Costa Rica vacation. Owner Roberto Sr. was able to arrange a family experience for us with just a 14-hr warning! On the river we felt totally safe under the guidance of his trusted, experienced, and more than witty river guide Chalo (who by the way trained 80% of the other guides in his already long career). Meanwhile, Roberto Jr. took pictures and videos of us from his vantage point in the safety kayak.
Having completed the tour, we fully understand why the Rio Pacuare is in everyone's white water rafting top-5. The rapids are exciting, the surrounding mountains are lush green beyond belief, the waterfalls feeding the river are refreshing, and the insects and birds hovering above the river complete the sense of paradise.
We highly recommend Roberto and his team for facilitating your Pacuare rafting adventure.

Exciting tour on Rio Pacuare. We had a pick up in Turrialba. The water in the river was challenging. It was the challenge we were looking for. We had a break on the river with great food. The place was clean and lovely. In the end you can have a shower and change your clothes to get dry again. They bring you back to the starting point.

I was so elated when I found Costa Rica Rios because they could help customize the trip I was envisioning going on with my family. I simply gave them the areas of Costa Rica we were interested in seeing and the types of activities we like and they put together an amazing 10-day trip itinerary! From the hotel stays to the activities to the private shuttles, this trip was exceptional. The only thing I would suggest is that they give more details in the itinerary such as the driver name, guide names/companies, and a detailed description of what attire is necessary. Everything always worked out and we had an exceptional time so no big complaints here. Must see/dos from our trip were Manuel Antonio (Si Como No hotel was wonderful and so was our guided tour with Pablo), Domincal (paragliding with Zion), and the ziplining in Monteverde.

What an amazing experience! We had a lovely drive through the mountains to reach Aquaires. We were greeted by Andrew and started with a delicious breakfast of fresh fruit, breads and the most delicious passionfruit jam I have tasted. We then met the horses and took off through the coffee plantation. I'm not an avid rider, but the horse was gentle and easy to ride.

We stopped to pick coffee beans to get an idea of what the typical worker would have to accomplish to earn a wage. Trust me - this is an experience. We then rode the horses and hiked a little to a beautiful waterfall. After returning to the Casa we had a lovely lunch, followed by a tour of where the coffee is processed. During all this time, Andrew was there to answer any questions that might arise and to share a wealth of knowledge regarding coffee, the plantation and Costa Rica in general.

The coffee tour was very informative, starting with the growth of the coffee plants all the way to the final bagging. We were lucky enough to do a cupping session because we wanted to buy green coffee beans in bulk to bring back to our cafe in the states. The rest of the group did a coffee tasting.

This was the highlight of our trip and we learned so much. the experience is a memory made with so much to learn and remember. I highly recommend.

We had a crazy and wonderful time Rafting for a full day and ending the trip with a gorgeous lunch.

Douglas was our very experienced raft guide, and Jonathan was our guide scanning the river by kayak. There was a lot of rain so the first rule was safety.

We had great fun in the rapids and enjoyed the birds and nature along the river.

We really recommend this as a 5 star activity discovering the beautiful region of Turialba.

Best rafting trip Iā€™ve ever done. Besides the amazing views and experience, the guides were world class. Iā€™ve been on several rafting trips and never experienced the ease and experience of these guides. I enjoyed it so much and felt so confident in their abilities that I want to go back for a kayak trip.

We had a friend in CR recommend rafting the Pacuare. It was a terrific way to start our CR trip. The first day is pretty mild which was great to get used to paddling. We stayed that night at the Rios Lodge. Our room had an amazing room in a building overlooking the River. Bathroom en suite. Not super luxe but very clean and nice. The food was solid and there is even a bar. We arrived at lunch and spent the afternoon swimming in a natural pool and doing a short walk around the property. Day 2 was more exhilarating - class 3 and 4. We aren't experienced rafters but felt completely safe with our guide Esteban who was amazing. He was knowledgeable, helpful and super skilled. We even watched how the crew (there were a few boats plus a safety kayak in our group) sprang into action when someone fell out of raft. All was well and it was great to see everyone knew exactly what to do. Highly recommend!
