    Short version: Everthing was perfect.

All the transports are well organised and safe. All the people from VIVA Safari are very friendly and try their best, to give you the best experiance. The food was great and the tented lodge at Katekani was awesome - a lot of space, refreshing privat pool and even a AC, if needed.

At all the stops during Krueger Park or the transfers you are able to pay with credit cards, only at the lodge you will need cash for drinks.
Yes, the programm is packed full, but this is the best chance to see a lot of the animals. But you can skip parts of programm if wished. The bush walk was short and very interessting and easy to do.
The first night in Tremisana lodge is outside of Kruger National Park, there for you can do game-drives on sunset and sunrise, you will have the chance to see lots of animals.

We loved the experiance and our first safari and highly recommend VIVA Safari. There are other plans and camps you can book - for us the 5 days tour and to stay at Katekani was perfect.

    Side node to malaria:
During this time (end of summer - more rain) malaria risk is higher. We spoke with the employees, the don't face problems.
We were pre-caution and took the "malaria-medicine" and for sure bug spray.

Amazing trip to Kruger with Gerrie as our guide. He really took the time to explain the animals to our group. It was special for the kids in our group as Gerrie really took the time to explain and make them feel like they were little rangers!! Gerrie also takes photos throughout your safari and will send them to you at the end!! Wonderful guide and experience.

We stayed at Tremisana and Katekani Lodges. The lodges has its differences in terms of facilities but both lodge’s staff are really really amazing hosts.
My husband and I are vegetarian/vegan and both needs are well catered for. We really enjoyed Margarets cooking at Katekani. Thank you so much!
The activities are well organised in our case which made us extended our stay. They will always give you a briefing the night before for your full day activities the following day which we really appreciate so we dont have to rely on our own notes.
We experienced game drives in Bulale reserve, full day game drives in Kruger, some bush walks and a lil bit of night drive after sunset dinner in the bush.
Price wise, I would say they are reasonable and decent compared to other safari tour agencies I’ve inquired initially. Overall, we both enjoyed our first safari experience and glad we chose Viva Safaris.

PS. We had seen tons of animals but only posting some.

With an early morning start on a overcast morning which probably helped us in seeing a lot of game, we saw lions as we entered the park, and spotted leopard, feeding hyena, elephant, jackals and much more within an hour of our tour, our tour was basically all day 06h30 to 15h00. a very long day, luckily in the morning it was very overcast ,which probably also helped us spot game in abundance. I would probably have called it a day after the mid morning break as as it got hotter, animals became harder to spot and it was a bit tiring but as an experience in the Kruger it was excellent and would totally recommend Elephant Herd Tours & Safaris. The cream on the cake was seeing a Hippo out of water lumbering towards our vehicle and then entering the dam close to our viewing position.

The entire trip was amazing. You practically couldn’t ask for better and the only animal in the Big Five that we didn’t see was leopards. Other than that, the lodging was great along with the meals that they provided. Special thanks to our safari guide Aubrey, chef Precious, and host Swazi who went above and beyond with their service and their knowledge of the park and animals.

Kobus our driver was very knowledgeable about the animals and the park itself. He tried his darnest to get us to see the big 5. However the elusive Rhino, Lions, and Cheetas were no where to be seen in our excursion. Not from lack of looking or trying. We did see pleanty of the other kruger residents. Lots of Kudo, buck, buffalo, giraffe, elephants, hippos. Etc... The vehicle was comfortable and traveled well over rough roads. Just be sure to carry a jacket as it is a open back where you are seated. And mornings and evenings can be a bit chilly.

Super tour, starting with our kind guide Nhlamulo. Blankets in the car for the morning temperature and beautiful sunrise in the park. We wanted to complete our 3 out of big 5 so were looking for rhino and leopards and; it worked!!! Also buffalo, group of 6 lions and pf course elephants. Also hyena and wild dogs (zebra’s, giraffes and antilopes of course): lucky us. Thanks for guiding us Nhlamulo!

We did the Kruger & Hluhluwe package and had some amazing days with Viva Safari! Everything was perfect, and especially the guides and the staff at the Tremisana Lodge made our trip more than remarkable. I have to say that we were pretty impressed by how well they organised every single day and how much fun we had. The Kruger safari was so much fun, our favourite activity.

After leaving Tremisana Lodge we spent 3 days with Charl, our guide, and our driver George in Hluhluwe/ ISimangaliso wetland park what we really enjoyed. We felt like travelling with friends and appreciated their outstanding work. Thank you once again and greetings from Nepal.

This was an absolutely wonderful introduction to a safari. We got picked up at our Johannesburg hotel and driven to Kholiwe lodge. We spent 2 nights there, going on 4 safaris into Kruger National Park.

Transportation: the drivers to and from the airport were on time, very polite, and accommodating. They answered our questions and stopped when breaks were needed.

Lodging: the accommodations were great. AC in the bedrooms made it comfortable. Meals were provided and were excellent. The rooms were clean and we felt safe when in the lodge. One day we fed a family of warthogs right at the front door. Another day a couple of silver monkeys came and we fed them. One of us even got the feed a kudu that came up to the lodge.

Safaris: the guide we had was Aubrey. He was amazing. He was in constant touch over the radio with other drivers to find the places to go in the park. Aubrey often would spot animals hidden in the bushes. We saw lions on each trip into the park. Elephants, including a herd with very young ones. Buffalo, zebras, giraffes, monkeys, baboons, hyenas, wild dogs, impalas, crocodiles, and many species of birds. It was incredible.

Management: Balanta Tours was in constant touch via WhatsApp. They answered questions we had from before we got picked up through the final day we were there. They offered to help with whatever we needed. Very good customer service.

Very well organised. Most of the guides were professional and knowledgeable. Saw a leopard, which is exactly what I wanted. Plus lots of other animals. Transport to and from the lodge was comfortable. Would recommend for solo travellers as I met some great people from all over the world.
