What travellers are saying
- Yvonne PManchester, UK39 contributionsGreat day tasting wine and cheese at Fairview, R75 for 6 wines paired with cheese - all excellent choices (roughly £3.64 to us Brits)!Written 7 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - knoesenmCape Town Central, South Africa698 contributionsIt was my first time here although the friends who I went with have been before. They mentioned several changes, but it sounds for the better!
I loved the shop with all the Brenda home made products. I also didn't find the prices touristy at all! The tea shop was a dream! I had no idea Nigiro tea had a location here and I lingered quite a while in that section.
We did the chocolate tasting at Beyers and then the beer tasting next door. Then, of course, it was time to eat!
You should really make a reservation ahead of time. Although there were about 30 open tables reserved for at least an hour later, they wouldn't give us a table. Eventually, they settled on a bench table under a tree. I don't know how practical it is to show away 8 hungry people while you have 30+ tables open for at least another hour?
All in all, the Spice Route gets a thumbs up from me.Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It would have been nice to have something to eat to cleanse the palate between tastes. Our server was very informative and cordial. The tastings are done at tables outdoors, so if the weather is hot, it's hot.Written 15 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stijn v3 contributionsA lovely estate that we visited as part of the wine tram. They have great tastings, and the staff (specifically the lady working in the little shop (on January 5th 2024)) is very kind and helpful. Can recommend!Written 5 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- GrahamR55London, UK85 contributionsVery peaceful monument and well worth the entrance fee of 40 rand. The gardens and site are well kept. It is worth doing a little homework beforehand to understand what the monument represents and is all about. There are brilliant views of the valley below.Written 22 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- apollomax13Gardone Riviera, Italy66 contributionsMagic Place ! Second largest Monolith after Red Rock in Australia. Lon g way up on a dirt road. Can climb then up to the top. Extreme steep, good shoes necessary. Stunning 360° viev over Paarl valley.Written 4 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NunoFrancoFernandesPaarl, South Africa40 contributionsWe had a pvt dinner here, really a bucket list experience surrounded by so much wine history. Dood was great and the carved giant wine barrels are truly spectacular. Loved itWritten 24 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jmbryantSouthampton, UK136 contributionsThis vineyard has several exceptional wines, including a white pinotage which is, as far as I know, the only one available for sale (several vineyards make them for blending). Their Seraphic is an affordable white blend which just suits my taste and is ideal for quaffing*.
Their lunches are excellent, too.
* According to Sir Terry Pratchett quaffing is very like drinking, but you spill more.Written 21 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Bottomless was very good, as always...
The pre-artist was very excellent as well. i'll follow her.
My only comment I would make is regarding the time of the show indicated on the ticket (3pm), while the show really started at 4pm...
We rushed to be there on time and at the end, we had to wait for an hour...Written 18 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. survival and sustainability of these species in the wild.
We had the privilege to visit this incredibly special place. This rescue animal sanctuary is a testament to people devoting their lives to a purpose.
To everyone who works here that puts in the time and effort, you should all be proud. We look forward to seeing you again.Written 26 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
