What travellers are saying
- Travelforfun1946Benicia, CA19 contributionsWe enjoyed the church, it was beautiful. The mission was well kept. It was very informative of the Indians and the padres that had lived there. There was a very nice courtyard. Worth the trip.Written 31 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KTCHart117 contributionsNice to go for a walk on. Great views. A little crowded at times. Watch surfers. Dogs not allowed on pier, but people still bring them. Watched as 2 dogs almost started fighting.Written 9 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Daniel CIrvine, CA11 contributionsLots of great food and handmade goods vendors! Enjoyed a nice early fall night out with family scoping out the various vendors and enjoying Vietnamese grill and gyros. A great addition to the Oceanside sceneWritten 9 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- stephen gNYC266 contributionsWe had just arrived in town and after settling into our rental house, we came over here to get a sense of things to do in the area. The staff was very helpful and gave us plenty of brochures and flyers to help plan our downtime. We were able to get a good sense of what was worth it and what could be skipped. Very highly recommend stopping here if in the area!Written 25 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

The Market takes place in the Downtown part of O'side, not too very far from the pier. The cannoli booth had such a fantastic selection of filled and dipped treats. Loved them! Hand-made by the wife of the vendor who sells them.
The Market takes place in front of the Library where the resale books folks were out there, doing a great business. The dates and times of the Market take place each week at the same time.Written 9 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Steve KHyde Park, NY72 contributionsAs a lifetime surfer, I found the museum to be excellent! I believe anyone with even a casual interest in surfing will find the nominal entrance fee ($7 for adults, $5 for seniors) worthwhile. There is an incredible selection of surfboards, some dating back to the virtual start of the sport, with redwood boards that look more like ironing boards :) One of the more amazing things is the actual surfboard that Bethany Hamilton was riding when she was attacked by a tiger shark in Hawaii in 2003; you think it must be an artist's version of what a board would look like if a shark bit it, but it is the real deal! The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and apparently, if you are there at the right time, a surfing "celebrity" might happen by. If you are in Oceanside, it is certainly worth a visit. I drove up from San Diego and found it worthwhile!Written 10 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - George GOceanside, CA56 contributionsFor those who have impaired mobility, beach wheelchairs (Rolleze wheels) can be checked out from the lifeguard headquarters at Parking Lot 11 (next to the boat ramps). There is no charge. And from that location to the waterline is quite flat (no dunes). Call 760-435-4018 to reserve one. You can park your street-wheels wheelchair or scooter in their locked shed until you bring it back.Written 29 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lauren UPittsburgh, PA1 contributionIt is an absolutely perfect spot for a Relaxing getaway! It is a beautiful apartment with everything you need and more. The grounds are gorgeous and the pool and hot tub were great! Super walkable area too. Arlene was amazing and responsive, and she doesn’t make you do a million chores like some Airbnb hosts.Written 25 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - on_the_go_98765Tucson18,350 contributionsAlways a highlight of our trips to Oceanside: the architecture is so delightfully art deco (with a Spanish twist) and the library is still the home of the Friends of the Library bookstore. We have found so many great reads for such small prices and appreciate the opportunity to shop here.
Recently, the library has opened a new resale bookstore across the street (Jan & Evie's Used Books) with a plethora of great finds! I would highly recommend book-o-philes stopping there also.Written 21 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
