What travellers are saying
- Brian FBaltimore, MD3 contributionsWalking Mountains Science Center was a great experience. While only a short walk from 'downtown' Avon, it holds beautiful grounds, quality facilities and extremely helpful staff. I participated in the free Nature Walk on the grounds, and our guide Reese gave us an great experience -- informative, easy going, and accommodating. I will have to budget more time next visit to try out one of the other Walking Mountains tours they offer!Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mary F4 contributionsI am a die hard mogul skier and if you like moguled runs with a pitch you are in luck! You even get to ski the legendary birds of prey race run and the women’s GS course! Overall an amazing day at Beaver Creek! Great groomed options too!Written 20 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Richard NLeesburg, VA32 contributionsI hiked the trail to Beaver Lake today. It was absolutely gorgeous. The trail was in excellent condition except for about 30 feet that was still covered in snow. The lake and surrounding area was pristine. I love this trail and encourage everyone to try it!Written 20 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SusieMA1Belleville, KS172 contributionsThis is beautiful chapel set in the Rocky Mountains at Beaver Creek Ski area. This is a multi-faith chapel. Each denomination has a different time for their own service and this is posted outside the Chapel. The setting is peaceful and serene.Written 23 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kendall L49 contributionsVilar is an intimate theater right in Beaver Creek village which is amazingly convenient. They have everything from comedy shows to concerts to off-Broadway performances. Don’t let the small venue fool you, the Vilar center attracts big names like Scotty McCreery and Old Dominion. We’ve also attended up and coming local artists and have always been impressed with the quality of talent the Vilar Center attracts. It’s definitely worth checking out their calendar to see who is playing when you’re in town! - Steveh3TexasSouthlake, TX798 contributionsWe had our 2 and 6 year old grandsons staying with us. We needed a pool. So, we went to the Rec Center and got a 25 visit punch card. Our 6 year old enjoyed the water slide. There are 3 different pools and a lazy river. All is indoors. Their mom could work-out, while we watched the boys in the pool. Very close to a very fun playground too.Written 15 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Joni S4 contributionsScheduled a x country ski lesson for my last day with my family skiing at BC & Vail. After reading other reviews I was worried about my experience. I was happily surprised. We had 8+ inches of snow the day before. The trails at the top of the strawberry park express were groomed and a private learning area for me with my “group” instructor Sarah. I ended up with a private lesson.
Sarah was pleasantly surprised at the conditions and told me about the challenges of ungroomed trails or snowshoe of snowmobile paths across the ski grooved trails. I totally agree with other reviewers that BC needs to make grooming this area a priority or advertise the lesson as back-country and ungroomed.
I learned about what to look for in equipment, should I upgrade the skis I inherited. We worked on general form, Traversing hills Both up and down and did several loops on a short trail. Sarah paid attention to my ability level and when I was winded we stopped and chatted for a minute or 2 before continuing.
I believe my downhill skills made this first cross country lessen easier than if I was new to skiing altogether. I had the use of the skis after lunch at no additional charge which was an unexpected perk and I went back up to practice what i learned.
It was disappointing to see that the McCoy area is a mixed use area which is intimidating at best and could be dangerous for inexperienced skiers- downhill and xcountry. Perhaps there could be signage and separation? I did NOT go to that area as a first timer for the reasons stated by others.
Finally, I received an email the day of my lesson telling me to arrive at 8:30 to pick up equipment for a group lesson at 9. That apparently is inaccurate as my group lesson began at 10. I thought it was at 10 but when the email arrived I went early and ended up waiting. This was inconvenient and my husband found it to be far more irritating because it changed our meet up plans. This should be an easy fix for BC . There is no way to confirm the time after receiving that early morning email.

As I rounded a corner and caught a glimpse of a set of four paintings, I was immediately drawn in and I felt a wash of emotion that seemingly came from nowhere. I just stood and stared at it, and was overwhelmed. I was fighting back tears--that has only happened to me once in my life, and it was a Michelangelo bust I was looking at. I can't explain it, but it was extremely hard to leave the gallery without them. Maybe if I win the lottery....Written 15 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Kathryn MBoston, MA26 contributionsThis is one of my favorite courses after a weekend in Beaver Creek! I play 18 holes two days in a row. I had only signed up for 9 each day which is an option for those not looking to either spend a full day or spend the money (it's a little pricey but well worth it). The staff were really friendly - I called from the 9th hole both days to extend my round and they were really helpful and accommodating.
There's a large grass driving range as well as a sizable chipping area for pre-round practice. The scenery is what really sets the course apart from others. It's a target golf course that weaves through the mountains with some pretty tricky shots. Holes 1 and 3 are the hardest so don't get discouraged if you get off to a rough start!
The pro shop also has great merchandise, I recommend checking it out before or after your round as well. Thank you Beaver Creek Golf Club for a wonderful weekend!Written 6 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We really had such a great experience.
