We never stayed here before thought we'd stay a night while traveling North. Very nice park, paved with full hook ups for RVs. We lucked out, we had #39. Nothing to the side of us, the other side was tents. Well kept, paved roads & pads. Sorry I didn't book sooner for our return trip. Nothing was available. If you arrive after hours, you have to enter thru a different entrance.

I have been climbing for about five years and have made a hobby out of climbing at new gyms when I travel. DE Rock Gym has the most friendly staff of any gym I’ve been to: welcoming, open to questions, and pleasantly chatty when appropriate. The atmosphere is friendly and it is clear that the staff care about regular climbers as much as new climbers - you can hear them cheering on new climbers but will also step in when a kid takes over a bouldering wall and prevents others from climbing- which I’ve never seen done before. It’s this level of attention and care that keeps me coming back regularly.

Beck's Pond, though surrounded by housing, manages to let nature shine in its bright and sparkling blue waters. I was greeted on arrival by entertaining flocks of geese and seagulls. They did not mind the cold weather and flew and swam in all directions. Watching them alone made the visit worthwhile. Of course, for relaxing and recreation, there are several gazebo shaped pavilions for picnics and play equipment for children. There is a boat ramp, again well guarded by the seagulls.

Usually, when I look for churches and cathedrals to visit, I think first about those that are a century or two old. In this case, the parish of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Bear, Delaware, was not even organized until 1978, and the actual church was not completed and consecrated intelligence 1998. Our recent visit to Emmitsburg, Maryland, to see the Basilica and other history associated with St. Elizabeth Ann Seton peaked my curiosity. The church is simple but majestic in its upward curving design. I was fortunate that the church was open and busy on this Saturday, so I could witness firsthand the huge, round, and airy sanctuary where light from clear upper story and stained-glass windows cast beautiful reflections. I talked to the priest who explained that the parish draws on members who come from all over the world, creating a global community right in Delaware. This church addresses oth spiritual as well as artistic sensibilities.

Fox Run is a shopping complex located on Route 40 in Bear, DE. Here you will find Acme grocery, M&T bank, Thurston's Pub, Riviera Pizza, Concord Pets, Walgreens, Michael Gallagher jewelers, Simon Eye Associates, WSFS bank, Salad Works, KFC, IHOP, Just Fish and Goodwill. These are the mainstays, but you will find a handful of other shops/services/restaurants in there as well.

We most recently visted the shopping center for their annual Fall Festival & Car Show. On this day, they set up a car show in the parking lot and a Trick-Or-Treat Treasure Hunt for the kids. Kids get a treasure hunt map at the central tent, walk around to the participating vendors and then return to the tent with their completed map. Along the way they collect stamps and treats from the vendors. Back at the tent, they get to pick out a free pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. Dietz & Watson and Philly Pretzel were also on location on this day providing free treats: hot dogs and soft pretzels in addition to beverages. Several of the car show participants also had bowls of candy set out for the trick-or-treaters. There were also several children's characters walking around the car show that day for the kids to take pictures with: Abby Cadabby & Cookie Monster in addition to a juggler.

Overall, this is just a small shopping complex. It provides your basic needs: banking, food, grocery, pharmacy. I think it is OK. I do like that they offer free community events for the kids from time to time.

We have passed by Sunset Stables countless times over the years. I was aware that you could book children's birthday pony parties here, take riding lessons and book riding trail tours. However, this summer during the pandemic, Sunset Stables advertised that they were offering pony rides for $5. We took the kids over and they each rode around the pony corral ONCE for $5 each.

Overall, I think the pony ride area is OK. I wish they got a few laps around the corral for the $5. Other pony rides experiences we have done in the past while on vacation included 3 laps around the corral. I understand its the pandemic so they probably wanted to limit contact and time with their staff. I wish it were a little longer in duration as it was almost not worth the drive over to the stable for the few minute rides. We were literally there 7 minutes total. This included paying, riding, switching kids and getting BOTH of the children on/off the ponies. They do offer trail rides for bigger kids that are longer in duration, but not for the little kids. Staff was OK. I didn't find them to be particularly friendly, but kids said their "guide" did talk to them some as they walked around the corral. Also, none of the staff were wearing masks.

We stopped by Christ the Cornerstone on Father's Day since they were hosting a FREE classic car show along with several activities for the kids. It was a really nice morning spent. They had a really great turn out for the car show. In addition to the car show, they had a nice photo-op area set up inside the church where Dad could take his photo with the kids and some props. They had free soft pretzels, free sodas/water, free bagged chips, etc. They also had a bounce house for the kids to play in. They even had a lion mascot show up to entertain the kids. It was a really nice free event. Staff/volunteers were all welcoming and friendly.

Overall, we enjoyed our visit with Christ the Cornerstone church for the Father's Day Car Show. I look forward to next year's event!

Worst experience ever. We tried to book it in advance but they wouldn't allow us to for groups less than 10 people. The lines were 2 hrs long but they wouldn't actually give us an estimate. The actual hayride was 10 minutes and there were only about 6 zombies. Paintball guns mounted so you can't even really aim and shoot properly. It was awful and a huge waste of time. I wish I could have my 3 hours back and my money back.
