A must see when visiting key west if you are into history. The tour guide was excellent and answered all of our questions and we did not feel rushed.

The fort was a great history lesson and very eye opening to the past. The beach was BEAUTIFUL. The best beach on the whole Keys! This was one of our favorite excursions during our stay.

Beautiful and amazingly well kept garden. The orchids alone were breathtaking. Well worth the time. Make sure you donate to keep his great cause going!!!

What a beautiful home! The gardens are steps from the mayhem of Duval St and are quiet but serene. A guide will meet you on the first floor and give you a little history and is there to answer questions but the house is self guided. The original Audubon plates are on display as well.

What a beautiful hidden treasure. Great place to visit and relax. Walk around the garden and overlook the water. We found a beautiful spot in the garden to just chill out

A cozy dimly-lit nest that is chock-full of dusty historical nautical treasures. Fascinating aspects of how Key West got its start as a pack of shipwreck scavengers. These dueling scavenger families would greedily strip a wreck lickety-split. Take the cargo and probably knock-in a few heads. These rapacious ghouls were the precursors before the mob-connected rum runners arrived for the Havana circuit. Nice multi-level compact museum with a high density of excellent displays and thoughtful narratives.

Wonderful tour with Thomas Greenwood who is the curator and museum store buyer. The house is very interesting and the grounds were well restored.
    Thomas was delightful and knowledgeable.
Don't miss this wonderful store. I got a lovely necklace and wear it all the time. Great gifts!

Wonderful place to stay when visiting the historic Key West area. Chose a room with double queens in building behind the mansion. The front door of the room opened onto the pool area where there is adjacent tables for outdoor seating for breakfast, coffee, hanging out. The room was very nice and comfortable. The inn is beautiful. Easy access to someone over the phone regarding any questions ( no staff on premises 24/7 ). Located right off Duvall street this is great for the location but can be a problem when a local bar doesn’t turn its music off after hours( when it should have based on city ordinances from what I have gathered). The Curry Mansion also has a building across the street which is a little further away from the possible noise from the unruly bar causing the problem we encountered.

In direct proximity to a lively beach this might seem a strange place to a memorial. Luckily there are explanatory plates. Slaves from slave ships died in Key West after being rescued. They found there final resting places here. The cemetery was turned into a fitting place of remembrance with a mosaic showing the slave trade routes.

This place is a hidden gem. While the house is very beautiful inside and out, it is the free guided tour which makes it a place not to miss.

Change inevitably comes with time, and after many decades the heirs to the Porter family sadly closed the legendary family museum for tours and sold the Key West Heritage House in 2010. But the good news is that the property is preserved by a new owner in its authentic beauty and is currently privately maintained. The museum does not have regular hours at the moment, but may open its doors again for tour with a nominal donation.

With change, new doors always open, and you now have the unique opportunity to stay in a famous family residence, right on the grounds of the Heritage House, as a monthly or seasonal rental. Situated on the parameter of the historic Heritage House property, the authentic 2-story Caribbean cottage-style home is full of authentic island charm and offers a swimming pool too. If you want to experience the real old time Key West, right were the island was first settled, this is an opportunity to really live a bit of the island’s heritage.

Take a photo as you walk by - but don't make a special trip unless you're really into wells. Have fun.

Not the most interesting pieces of architecture you have ever seen. It was the old City Hall building.
