- phil-the-badgerThornbury, UK366 contributionsFabulous live music, friendly staff, great cocktails and selection of beers.
However, there's a high price for having a good time.... happy hour 2 for 1 drinks but the tips, service charge and tax are all applied to both drinks before the "free" drinks are deducted so it pretty much cost us near $40 for a beer and mojito!Written 11 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They had free tacos on a Tuesday night and decided to give them a go. The tacos were actually pretty good considering what we were expecting. They offer several specials throughout the week, and they cater an array of people. The DJ(s) play ALL of the music. There wasn't a specific genre, but a mix of everything to keep the groove going. Everyone had something to dance to, if they so chose to. Happy vibes in a laid back atmosphere. Drink prices are straight forward without the touristic trap of things. Best kept secret, don't tell anyone! Also, tell everyone! Will def add this to my rotation of places when in town.Written 13 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - amberlynn9216Worth, IL56 contributionsReally clean and on Fridays it’s only $40 unlimited drinks from 10pm to 6am. - IronmanSan Francisco, CA27 contributionsMusic and neon lights were amazing. The dancers were good and there was a performance for about 10 mins around 2:15 am. Drinks were highly overpriced and diluted. Entry charges were $20 for men and $10 for women. Parking was $10 and they don’t let you park on street even if there is parking because they want to empty your pocket. Though, you can park on street one or two blocks from the club. Charges were $2.5 per hour. So, depending on how long you are planning to stay at the club, you can decide to park in their parking lot or on the street.Written 27 May 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Clair1 contributionThis is the perfect girls night spot! There was 4 bachelorette parties going on the Sunday night I stopped in to visit Lara, my go to bartender. They have shots served out of a d*ck, funny hats to take pictures with, flaming and layered drinks, food, hookah, games, TVs everywhere, a huge covered dance floor outside, two rooms with different genres of music playing. They have signs in the bathroom reminding you to double check you have your phone and to let management know if you lost your friends or need help getting an Uber, that “they got you” <3Written 1 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Magdalene KSavannah, GA60 contributionsI came here with my husband to hear some music and really enjoyed myself. Unfortunately the party didn’t get started until around two AM and we had to get up early the next day so we could not stick around but I enjoyed singing my lungs out to songs by Roció Dúrcal and Son by Four, sung by the first performer, before the band Los Tres de Havana came on. The place is expensive ($35/ person for the cheapest tables) and the drinks are not good, but it really is a place to enjoy music and a really fun cultural experience. My husband on the other hand did not like it that much because he was not familiar with a lot of the songs. So, if you’re ok with a very old school, nostalgic Cuban vibe, and don’t mind a super loud salsa band in a tiny bar, and can stay out way past 2 AM, by all means go, otherwise better stick to Ball and Chain or another place where reservations are not required.Written 25 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gent LifeOrlando, FL58 contributionsGet in here for the crowd and enjoy a cool vibe and tunes from the DJ with a game of scrabble... OR...
Get in here last and dance your alcohol induced confidence away. Always has been one of our staple spots.
What's mind-blowing is how far this place has come as a structure since it was the Transit Lounge bar and venue back in the day (and we liked it then, too)!
BTW... Walk a block away and grab a Columbian Hot Dog before heading home to sleep in ;)Written 15 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. From exotic tropical fruits (passionfruit, kiwi, mango) to the standards (strawberry, etc.) and all fruitas in between.
This is a spot to come after your pretty dinner. Here, you come to let loose, sweat up a storm and have an amazing time!
Come solo and you're just as welcomed as coming with large group. You're bound to leave becoming family...or a significant other before the night ends.
Drinks are a tad on the expensive side for what they are, so come with deep pockets. Make sure to eat something heavy and greasy BEFORE you arrive so your stomach's coated accordingly.
There are also lots of colorful artistic pieces to take fun flix with so come cute/handsome.
The bathrooms need SERIOUS TLC, often, especially with this being a drinks-only establishment.Written 26 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Bongos has been around for a long time. It stands to reason that it should be included in your plans the next time your in downtown miami.Written 3 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - uberspeedMiami, FL192 contributionsIconic view of the city, I enjoy the house music outside but you can also go stuff yourself inside for Top 40 if need be. - luv2seeallplacesHouston, TX13 contributionsMy husband and I went to this bar for lunch after reading reviews. We sat at the bar on a weekday afternoon and had a great time chatting with the bar staff. We ordered beef fajitas and the portion was generous and very tasty! We are from Houston where there are Mexican restaurants on every corner so we are a bit picky. The bar had a wide selection of beers. We found the atmosphere good and the prices reasonable. We came back in the evening for delicious salads and to our surprise live music. We had a great time and would recommend it. After the craziness of South Beach, this was a welcome escape.Written 4 May 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Darcy MCalgary, Canada16 contributionsLe Chat Noir de Salis, located in the financial district of downtown Miami, is a place that all cool cats should visit when in the Miami area. It is a welcome change of pace from the fleeting fashionista scene of Miami Beach, and only a few minutes away from the beach by cab or Uber. The heart of Le Chat Noir is the grotto-like club room in the lower level. It is decorated in the theme of a private club's library - as if the library has been taken over by wine lovers. Racks of wine reach out from behind the wet bar to tempt visitors. There is a food menu, and I suppose from the number of items I watched being served during my one visit, the food at Le Chat must be at least passable fare. But I was there for the music, not the food. On our visit to Le Chat, a very fine jazz quartet delivered a world-class music experience. The musicians were outstanding. I'm no expert in the genre of jazz, but I know enough to recognize talent. Thanks to Le Chat for an evening of music I will long remember. And that brings me to the not-so-good part. On two occasions during the set, the crowd in attendance that evening was admonished by a fellow that I presume was either the owner or the manager. Both times he intervened, he told the crowd to shut up, listen and learn from the musicians. He made it clear that it was our privilege to be there, and to be in the presence of such auspicious musicians. He was right about the quality of the musical talent, and yes a few of the crowd were a bit chatty. But as everyone there paid a $15 cover charge, I think it was their right to enjoy themselves without getting a repeated scolding. I can't recall any live Jazz club recording that doesn't have a little crowd noise in the background - so it goes with the territory. Man, he was one crabby dude. And he definitely put some discomfort into the atmosphere. Credit to the quartet, whose fine musicianship put the mood right again each time they sparked up. If you are looking for a dip into the live music scene after your day at the ocean, look no further than Le Chat. Just be prepared for a little Jive with your Jazz.Written 13 April 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
