- Patty BNashville, TN1,438 contributionsI haven’t been to little Havana in years. We were attending a welcoming party for a wedding, so we went.
It truly is an interesting area. Being born in Miami in the early 1950’s before this place even existed, I’m still amazed at the history and culture it brought to Miami.
By all accounts it seemed safe in the light of day. We arrived around 5:30 PM and the street seemed lively with lots of people. When we left we got in an Uber, so I cannot say what it is like after dark. The streets the Uber driver took from the Intercontinental Hotel to get us there were filled with homeless tents and questionable looking people.
With any area, just be aware of your surroundings and exercise caution.Written 19 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jonathan C.La Jolla, California, USA520 contributionsFun spot to walk around and explore local yummy Cuban cuisine and shops. Keep an eye out for the 8 rooster statues throughout this area!Written 9 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ann JPhiladelphia, PA17 contributionsI like to check out a nice residential area when I go to a new city--just to get a feel for the place. Coconut Grove was a nice respite from the high rise condo feel that predominates in much of the city. It has a good neighborhood vibe and makes for a nice stroll.Written 15 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BrakiWorldTravelerBelgrade, Serbia19,455 contributionsWhen I was last time in Miami, 12 y ago, I was advised strictly not to go to Little Haiti. It was a dangerous neighborhood with a high crime rate.
This time I put it on my list, as I read about it becoming a hip area with local culture. It was also on our way as it's just little bit north from the magnificent Wynwood which was planned for that day.
Unfortunately, we wasted our time. Apart from few murals and graphiti (which looked underwhelming after the Wynwood) everything else was quite ordinary and pretty much waste of time.
So, save your time and gas for future, maybe it will become new Wynwood some day.Written 5 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DayTrip8127782 contributionsGot an amazing microneedle facial by Abel followed by an invigorating cryotherapy session at DermaGym earlier this week. I sleep like a bear afterwards and really love that immediate result. And my skin tone looks way more even today. I will definitely be going back.Written 12 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
