We have travelled all over the world snorkeling and scuba diving. I will say the water is probably only 8-9 feet deep maybe, so don't bother scuba diving -- at least not where they take you here. The "sip" on the way back was very enjoyable, and you are not limited to one drink. The equipment was also relatively new, and very good. No issues there (not even a leaking / foggy mask, etc.). Overall, we saw one fish. Not an ideal place to snorkel based on our experience. I think if we ever came back, we would do the glass bottom boat, especially if they have a coral reef filter on the glass. There is definitely a large reef there, but we didn't see too much sea life. Also, if I came back to Key West, maybe I would just spend the day walking around the little town they have. We wouldn't be rushed because of the drop off and pick up time for the bus. Bus driver was great, though, and even got us there 15 minutes earlier than scheduled, which made a big difference in our ability to get food at Hard Rock Cafe (which btw, is very good - it even has key lime pie) and see the southernmost point of the continental United States. Three out of five stars here just because it's an average experience, but not really something anyone can do about without either going to a different snorkel location or lengthening the trip (like moving the pick up time to 6 or 6:30 am instead of 7 am) which is already a pretty long excursion in the first place (15 hours if you are getting the excursion bus pick up from Miami). The catamaran was a great boat - not too old. We had no issues getting into the the water, getting back on the boat, or getting the snorkel supplies distributed. They are very organized on the boat in terms of safety, boat, snorkel, and drink (bar) operations.
