- NC0114Sheffield, UK77 contributionsDon’t feel apprehensive: go visit this neighbourhood (in the daytime) and you’ll experience a little taste of the good & bad of life in Cuba - we loved it; well worth the effort.Written 18 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - houstontravelingfoolHouston, TX3,624 contributionsThought this was so cool. Groups of men sitting in the park playing dominos. How fun would that be! They didn’t seem to be taking it too seriously. Lots of laughs.Written 17 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- StephenMiami, FL2,534 contributionsThe plaza and memorial is dedicated in memory of a group of Cuban refugees who were attempted escape from Cuba via boat and were subsequently attacked and drowned by Fidel Castro's forces on May 13, 1994. It's interesting to see the memorial mural with the map of Cuban and ship, however, it is very simple and you can take it all in relatively quickly. Worth seeing if you have a particular interest in Cuban history, but I wouldn't recommend a trip out of the way for the average tourist.Written 17 September 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Magdalene KSavannah, GA60 contributionsI came here with my husband to hear some music and really enjoyed myself. Unfortunately the party didn’t get started until around two AM and we had to get up early the next day so we could not stick around but I enjoyed singing my lungs out to songs by Roció Dúrcal and Son by Four, sung by the first performer, before the band Los Tres de Havana came on. The place is expensive ($35/ person for the cheapest tables) and the drinks are not good, but it really is a place to enjoy music and a really fun cultural experience. My husband on the other hand did not like it that much because he was not familiar with a lot of the songs. So, if you’re ok with a very old school, nostalgic Cuban vibe, and don’t mind a super loud salsa band in a tiny bar, and can stay out way past 2 AM, by all means go, otherwise better stick to Ball and Chain or another place where reservations are not required.Written 25 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PAKCDNPompano Beach, FL136 contributionsThe sign should have been warning enough, watching them make it helped me understand how they could sell it 2-1, and watching them line up 20 plastic to-go-cups for a tour bus that stopped outside convinced me that we were not going to get the best Mojito in Miami...by any stretch. Didn't try the food.Written 18 February 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
