We really enjoyed our stay at the Jungle Camp! It was a 1 of a kind experience and something you can’t find anywhere else.
The whole team made us feel very welcome and they spoke really good English as well.
The camp is literally in the middle of the jungle so you can’t expect too much in my opinion. You won’t have a hot tub in the evening but rather a refreshing shower ;) The rooms have everything you need and a nice bed which made it so we slept fine both of the nights + don’t forget the amazin view over the river and the jungle. The rooms have electricity from 6pm to 10pm to charge phones etc. Furthermore you have the dining area which also has a great view over the river. We enjoyed all the meals a lot, the chef made it all out of fresh ingredients. Usually the meals consist of rice, multiple vegetables and meat/fish. The guides also told us they want to give us the experience a bit to live and eat like the locals.
The tours and spotting animals is what it’s all about and it was amazing! We went on 4 boat tours which one of them was in the evening and 1 walking tour which was also in the evening. We spotted a lot of different animals on all the tours here are some of our favorites. The oerang-oetang which we saw in the afternoon tour, it was a mother with a newborn baby which was amazing to see. All the different monkeys we saw and learned about because of the guides. The crocodiles we saw at night time. The water monitors we saw close by the camp hunting nearby the water and jungle. All the different insects and birds we found during the evening walk which we could see from close up. We saw a lot of other animals as well but there’s too many to write all down, it’s just a very different experience to find an animal in the wild in his natural habitat instead of seeing it at a zoo. Also it’s not just about finding and spotting the animals but also about learning about them through the guides and all the information they give you on the tours which is really interesting. We have not taken too much (good) pictures ourselves because we only had our phones and just wanted to enjoy the moment.
I would say this is an unique experience and I would recommend it to everyone that wants to experience living in the jungle and experiencing to life as a local.
We want to thank the whole crew at the camp again for an amazing experience!
