What travellers are saying
- RachelWaters83Brooklyn, NY6 contributionsBertie and Jim are a blessing to these beautiful cats. I couldn't imagine a better run facility with people who care more than they do. As crazy cat people (of all sizes) with a deep love and respect for wildlife, it's really gratifying to see so many cats enjoying the wonderful quality of life they have here. Truly cannot wait to return.Written 11 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Adrien LPlainville, CT4 contributionsWe stayed in the Red Roof Inn in Panama City. It's one of the chains best in the south. The staff are courteous and the rooms are clean and tidy. They do allow pets They have a continental breakfast tncluded in the price of the rooms. There are also several chain restaurants within 1/2 mile of the hotel. We had a good meal at Los Antijitos Mexican Resturant the food and service are good. They do not take reservations. Ask for the patio seating as it is airy and has a good view.Written 5 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 2TravelersMnStillwater, MN578 contributionsOaks by the Bay Park in Panama City, Florida is well worth a stop if you are touring Panama City. Stroll under the moss-draped ancient live oaks and head over to enjoy the Gulf views.Written 4 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LisaLWaterford, CT8 contributionsThis is an extraordinary museum that offers a specific glimpse of several histories: both the founding of Panama City (and so Florida, in part) and of printing. Our guide, whose name I don't know, provided a thorough, fascinating interactive talk about
the incredible lives and accomplishments of George and Lillian West. Lillian was one of the country's earliest newspaper editors and owners, and George's life, marked with tragedy, is too full to fit into this small space, but he was an entrepreneur, writer, publisher who also raised 2 of his grandchildren. The museum includes several printing machines, and the tour concluded with a sample run of the printer, which is still in use today. You will also learn where the expression "watch your p's and q's" originated. A lovely play station for children allows them to use stamps to make their own printed art. Our guide answered dozens of questions with warmth and knowledge. Great for people who love machines or art or printing or history or all four! A wonderful way to spend an hour or two, away from the screens.Written 9 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Heather S.Panama City, FL55 contributionsHaving been born and raised in Panama city, this mall holds a special place in my heart. There are so many wonderful memories I have here
It wasn't the best mall around since Pier Park arrived it was going downhill, but I know now that we all took it for granted.
Now it's gone...
Hurricane Michael ripped through here, and this mall is no longer here, and likely never returning; which saddens me greatly. My husband and I talk about how we miss it now, quite often. We especially miss the restaurant called "Iron Wok" that was there.
All in all, if you are visiting this lovely town and find yourself looking for things to do in your downtime, do know that this place is no longer here. It's now just a memory. The only mall attractions you'll find is Pier Park on the beach.Written 2 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
