Well worth the trip. Very inexpensive and we arrived early so there was little line up. Nice walk through the park on the mountain.

When talking about our cruise, Ocean World Adventure Park is the crowning jewel of excursions. Our kids absolutely loved it here and so did my wife and I.
+ There is an enclosed beach with some water slides and an inflatable obstacle course.
+Lifeguards are everywhere and life jackets are available for all guests.
+The bird exhibit was SO MUCH FUN. The bird were landing on us and eating the included food. Some of our favorite photos from the entire trip are from the birds exhibit.
+The drinks for the adults are reasonably priced and well made.
+The seal show was so much fun and the kids loved seeing the animals.
+The food court served tasty food and was reasonably priced.
+There are no negatives about this location. It was pretty much perfect!

If you are travelling with kids then this is an outstanding excursion! A perfect place to spend the day!

After leaving the cruise port, I asked around for tour of Waterfalls. The price varied so much, I had to keep on asking around more. In the beginning they were asking $80/person. Then I went little further out and found cheaper options. Many were asking $60/person. The best price I found was $20 per person and he would tour the city, get local food. We paid $2 per person for full meal of local food. It tasted awesome and only locals knows these food places. You pick 2 main dishes and 3 side dishes. Water bottle was free. Then few more minutes driving on the highway, the guide stopped at fruit market. It was something we pay $5 per piece in US. We were able to get 10 items for $3. It was round red color fruit and so sweet compared to tastes in US. Best guide and the entrance was included in the price for Waterfalls. The bridge crossing was fun and we walked along with cows. Took pictures with them. BEST $20 excursion on the island.

Great hotel. The room was clean, the staff was helpful, the breakfast was great, and its within walking distance to lots of shopping. We had a great experience and will definitely return.

The people are very friendly, the food and drinks were great, and there are many interesting and beautiful sights to see in Puerta Plata.

However, be wary of staying at Lifestyle Holiday Vacation Club. Again, the staff was great, the food and drinks were great, but we got stuck in two Villas that were poorly maintained and unsafe in places. Crown Villa 10 and Crown Villa 71. No handrails to the pool, steep steps with no slip strips (two out of five us slipped), roof leaked and I almost slipped going to the bathroom at night, power was out for almost half a day, can’t drink the water or put toilet paper in the toilet. There is a waste basket by every toilet.

I would never trade my timeshare for this brand.

However, I would recommend going to Puerta Plata.

This is a great beach with nice sand, no rocks, wide beach area with some wind and waves. Water was warm and lovely, seating was difficult however.

One of four stops during our 8 day Carnival Cruise. The waterpark and pools at Amber Cove make for a relaxing day for all ages. We rented two umbrellas and got two waterslide passes for our kids. (About $70) The lazy river and pools are clean and well kept. Us adults loved the swim up bar and attentive service by all staff. Restaurants on site from hotdogs to seafood. A little something for everyone.

They have water sports activities for extra $$ or rent a private poolside cabana or one over the water.

The shopping at Amber Cove offers something for everyone from souvenirs to diamonds and rum. The property is spotless, no beggars and we felt perfectly safe the entire time we were there.

Overall a big thumbs up and a great way to spend the day!

This is still a nice visit, but it is small, the place was late to open, but the exhibits and unspoiled interior were still great. As predicable for a July, it was really hot, and surprisingly, this place had no taxis. Still, nice view, OK walk form most of the cruise ports, and a nice place to visit. Entry is about two dollars.

It was an interesting stop that was provided as opart of our day tour. It was a very short tour inside, maybe 5 minutes, but the lady inside that gave us information as we walked through was very friendly. Yes, there are mosquitos and other insects in amber like in the movies. So cool. The gift shop is also very nice, but very expensive.
