The Conservatory was a wonderful way to spend the morning. The plants/landscapes were so nice to walk through. The staff was very friendly and plants were identified for easy recognition. I Highly recommend visiting for a peaceful 2 hours

This is such a beautiful spot in Millennium Park, but it can almost be missed. Despite my research I didn't know about this park before arriving. I walked by on my way to the Lake Michigan waterfront.
I visited two times while in Chicago over the weekend. It was very close to my hotel and made an excellent evening walk after a day indoors conferencing.
The garden is free and easy to enter on Monroe St. just opposite the Art Institute.
Walk around to see all the flowers and maybe catch a glimpse of animals carrying-on.
Boards along the way will help you identify flowers.
Of course, the array of flowers will be seasonal. The park covers five acres and according to the web page is open all year round.
My only regret is that I didn't take more photos. I was too busy enjoying the experience!

This was a pleasant way to spend an hour. The parking lot is on Hayes, just east of Cornell drive. There aren’t many signs to the garden until after you park and start walking toward it. Parking was like $2 per hour. Cross the bridge to Wooded Island, for a nice nature walk and the real jewel is the Garden of the Phoenix. Kids had fun walking around.

This park is surrounded by highrises and is located just North of Millennium Park. I was walking back to my hotel and decided to take a detour through this park. The first thing that I noticed was how quiet it was. I suppose the tall buildings blocked the sounds of Lakeshore and Columbus, and effects were very peaceful.

The lawns and paths were exceptionally well maintained. The buildings surrounding the area are clean and colorful and the Radisson is especially interesting. This can be a very peaceful place in the middle of the city.

Since I was walking towards the DuSable Bridge I walked northwest in the park. To my surprise there was an intriguing staircase to get you to the main level. You can see in my picture that there is a garden in the center of a rather large circular staircase in which aesthetics was clearly on the mind of the designer.

    Overall, a very nice experience.

Even if you can't pronounce the name, don't let that sway you from devoting several hours to perusing its unmatched selection of annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, herbs and veggies, the gift shop!! You will not be bored. I have been an avid consumer for decades now and I would not have a seasonal container design business without their help. I rely on the top quality selection of flowers for my landscaping firm every day. Whether you're a home owner, weekend gardener, landscaping professional ....there is something here for you. Bring your checkbook and understand that their prices are reasonable, affordable and worth every penny. Highly recommend you won't find anything like it in Chicago. Staff is always helpful, well trained and willing to guide you through the options for your planting needs. Run, don't walk, to Gethsemane Garden Center.

This is a tiny bit of green and peace and outdoor art in the city with some cool sculptures. It was just a few blocks from our hotel so we stopped by.

There are some neat large sculptures, they all have a sinister feel to them. (we did only visit during daylight hours). But I thought they were all sort of cool. There were three werewolf type figures, and a table that made me think it was for sacrifices. A little door, that didn't actually open, made my husband and I joke it lead to another dimension.

It was worth a slight walking detour to check it out, it's a cool sculpture garden.
