My 7 y/o daughter who loves kayaking saw a video for the evening/night kayaking. She's been wanting to do it since before COVID, we were finally able to get to Chicago for a long weekend. Urban Kayak did not disappoint. The trip was perfect timing. While it rained a little, they provided ponchos to keep us dry. They guides were so friendly, informative, and kept us safe. I would recommend this to everyone.
If you’re a beginner or you’re not confident about kayaking, this is totally fine for you. There will be two PIC guiding us which way to paddle all the way. Clear instructions was given and the details about the architecture were delivered well too.
Absolute must-do activity in Chicago! By far the highlight of our trip! We completed the total circuit from the start to the end of the Chicago riverwalk and return in 2 hours and 15 minutes. Definitely recommend setting aside 2.5-3 hours.
This is a great are to see wildlife in the city and a great number of people living here don't even know it exists. I suggest doing one of the early evening cardio kayak classes during the summer and you'll get to see herons, seagulls, and maybe a coyote. If you're an experienced kayaker you don't have to stay with the class. Go early and paddle as far north or south as you can in the first 50 minutes of the 1.5 hour session.
excellent place to hang out on a hot summers day, kayak or canoe with the family around the lagoons. everything provided on spot. safety equipment, single or double kayaks, canoes, etc. wonderful birdlife to watch, turtles sunbathing, fireflies.
